That ankle roll didn't look that bad. Hope she's just being dramatic.

If she's injured, I hope she retires. And doesn't tough this out.

Depends on your book but most rule that after one completed set, the bet is good to go.

What would be her reasoning to be that dramatic?

depend on the book you use. Most of them would grade that as a win. If you bet the games or total, it would be cancelled.

Check the rules on the site. Should be clearly mentioned. Probably a good idea to go through all of the rules before you place a wager.

That's an awful rule honestly because more often than not the player will only retire when they're "injured" and already down in the match.

It looked to me like Li was wearing down before the "injury". Let's go Azarenka!!

That's why you want at least 2 books to choose from if you are fading an injured player, or want to back one with concerns.

Bet365 have no finish no action and they have the most player friendly rules for tennis I've ever seen. And given Tony gives us 1 set = action at 5Dimes, I'd lean to say the later rule is likely less friendly for players overall without knowing anything else.

You should only win/lose on retirement if the player that retires is losing in my opinion by at least 1 break overall. Or just have the option of betting if you want to bet on the whole match is completed, or who advances in the tournament.

The only way I see that no finish = no action is player friendly is if you're on the injured side of the match. How often do you see someone up 6-4 3-1 and then say "you know what? My shoulder is a little sore. I'm done." ? Granted there are situations like Baker vs Querrey (which I was on Baker) where something significant and sudden happens but I'd much rather have 1 set completed as my rule.

Me too mostly. But like I said, if Tony's rules say 1 set = action I'd wager dollars against donuts in the long run that rule worls out better for the book.

I didn't mean that rule was player friendly, just their rules overall. Like for instance if Vika wins this set then they would pay out Over 22.5 bets as winners even if Li retired after that, because if the game was to have finished naturally from that point the over was assured. Nice rule eh?

No action retirement is kind of a BS rule, but seems to have benefited me more times than not. No injury in this match though.

Been live betting that breaks occur when they serve from that far side.

    Pretty fickle I suppose.

This match couldn't be more less entertaining for me to watch. I wish I could fall asleep.
