    Betting on the weather today

Strong winds are forecast all day again in Auckland.

I'm going to lay off there today as i don't want to be burnt again. Might consider bets on the dogs in the two late matches later. (Becker and Paire)

The ridiculous heat, low humidity and wind forecast for Sydney is going to make me lay off the early matches there too. Although I will be looking for info on who is fragile to fade. Particularly on the female side.

I am going to bet the final two matches of the day Bautista/Harrison and Tomic/Matosevic go to 3 sets. Hoping to get close to +200 on both.

It will cooling down a little by the time they get on court. Particularly the last match with a cooler change expected through by evening. But still hot enough so both players should be trying to pace themselves in the heat I am thinking.

Anyone else as concerned over weather issues as me today?

Something to consider, the guys with more spin in the wind may be more successful. Lacko is one of the flattest hitters on tour, Giraldo is one of the flattest hitters on tour. And maybe consider ball toss for serve, like an example being back in the day Soderling had the highest ball toss and winds would seriously lower his percentage while someone like Karlovic has a real low ball toss.

Matosevic says the hotter the better for his match with Tomic.

Tomic says "Yeah, the way now I've been playing, there is no stopping me."

As long as they battle it out. I ended up taking 3 sets +196

Nice calls on Giraldo and Lacko btw

Haha unfortunately I was saying the guys with more spin in the wind would be more successful and the flat hitters maybe would be more troubled like Lacko and Giraldo, but I was completely wrong

    Oh LOL. So you were.

Why does more spin in the wind work better?

Well if the wind is with you or like swirling, topspin adds tons of margin of error in general. I didn't see either match but it's way easier imo for a guy like Lacko to have balls go flying on him if he's hitting with the wind because he hits so flat. It should never influence the play too much though but it's a minor factor I think

Soeda actually hits the ball quite flat too, idk it's sorta a useless theory. I guess swirling winds just affect both guys

Lol actually what I said is probably bs cause you can hit through the wind too I guess. I never add weather when I decide a pick so I was just thinking. But like if youre hitting with the wind I'd think the guy with topspin would have more room to maneuver.

Ha heres the full quote, it gets even better.
BERNARD TOMIC: Yeah, the way now I've been playing, there is no stopping me. I can do really well. I'm not going to say I'll be in the top 10 in two months, three months. I don't know. Could take longer or could happen just like that the way I've been playing.
I believe I'll get there this year. If I keep up this attitude and the way I've been playing, who knows? Could go even higher.
