Isner left with a knee injury, "a little tendinitis." Ivanovic and Garrigues havent played alot but Garrigues is 0-3 lifetime against Ana. The numbers on Verdasco vs Djokovic are alot closer than you would think but they havent played since 2010. Seems like the tourney is the Serbs to lose, alot of injuries and pullouts here has seemed to be the norm. Ana pulled out of the 2011 finals against the US when she was paired with Nole, hopefully she and Novak can take this one.

    that's why they're closer. Djokovic wasn't Djokovic before 2011.

Very true. lol. Alot of clay wins for verdasco, 2-1 for nole on hard. I am really ready for the australian open, betting these tourneys is a crapshoot on who finishes or who cares

yeah the clay wins make the HTH misleading

One of the big changes in 2011 was Djokovic became an elite clay courter. Before that, he would lose to the Spanish clay courters more often.

According to matchstat, though, it's 3-2 Verdasco on clay and 3-2 Djokovic on hard (including one indoor hard).

Yeah it looks like wettpoint has it as 2-1 for nole on hard, they count madrid masters as clay, but atp has it at 3-1 and matchstat counts it as hard 3-2 for Djokovic. wettpoint is off on that one. That Madrid blue clay is pretty much a hard court now. Back in 2007 when they played it it was indoor hard. It doesnt matter though, like you said, Nole is a whole new creature now. I just hope Serbia can finish this out.
