Russian mob fix on Davydenko/Karlovic today?

Davydenko is known to throw matches. However when he does, he's normally a mid favorite, not -250 like he is today against Karlovic. Karlovic's return game sucks roosters. Dude can't break a box of toothpicks for his life.

A midsize bet on Davydenko is in order.

The Davydenko -2 games line -120 is also a good bet. Even if this ends in a 7-6 7-6 match. You'll push at worst. I believe Davydenko will cover the games line as well.

Karlovic gets his powerful serve broken immediately in the first game.

All you need is one break on Karlo and thats like set point.....lol.

Karlovic is so horrible at rallys. He looks lost during Rallys.

Karlovic must have gotten the mob call during that second set breaktime.

Karlovic stinking it up, lays a donut. When was the last time Karlovic laid a 0-6 set????? I've never witnessed one personally.......russian mob call boys!!!

LoL. Nice catchy title, but there's no need for fixing with these two involved. Davydenko's return game has dominated Karlovic for years. Head-2-head very telling. Given books' penchant for placing overpriced #s on favorites all year - this wasn't really surprising given the head-2-head and Karlovic being in poor form/injured pretty much for all of 2012.

Let me tell you guys a little secret... When there is a fixed match, the line moves a hell of a lot more then this one did.

How much would you say? Because this line moved from -180 to -255 in only a couple of hours! That's a tremendous move if you ask me...though I don't think there was any fix.

That's not that large of a move given the lack of matches being played this week and also take into account that it was the last match available on the board for the day. Weeks when there are only a couple of tournaments to bet on, line moves are more prevalent from what I recall over the years.

You're still really putting yourself in a bad spot if you try to figure out the line moves in tennis. There are certainly times when they match up with the results, but I've also seen times when a favorite went from -150 to -300 and lost.

I'm talking +180 to -300 type of moves.

I remember when Kevin Kim went from +250 to -500 in a match like 5 or so years ago and he lost in straights...

But you have to realize that not all line movements are due to match fixing.. very few actually.. I would say most are due to an injury that wasn't known to the public leaking out... but some players are obviously much better playing with injuries then others.

I would agree. Match fixing is rare. More common to have someone with "info" (real or imagined) come in with late money and to draw 'followers' who continue to move the line.
