    11AM: Donald Young +210

Donald Young has not won an ATP match
since the first round in Memphis, in February.
    15 losses consecutively.
Yet, he still ranks (84) and has a record on Hard
    of 101-68 since 2008.
4/5 of his most recent losses were on his worst
    surface, Grass.
6/15 of his losses were on Clay, his 2nd worse
    surface.
In Atlanta, a few weeks ago, he took a Set from
    Steve Johnson.
His level of competition is very high. Look at the
names he has lost to, they are top tier.
Still, 9 of his 15 losses involve either a Set win
    or a tiebreaker.

Jeremy Chardy ranks (47). He is 45-43 on Hard,
and 78-50 on Clay. Hard is not his favorite.
In Washington, he was manhandled by Malisse,
6-3/6-2. Washington was Chardy's first matches
on Hard in months. Before losing to Malisse,
he struggled to defeat Vasselin, 3-6/7-6(3)/6-4.
    Vasselin ranks 100.

Injuries are not a factor, with neither having
    one in a long time.
Young is 23, Chardy is 25.
Young is Left, Chardy is Right.
Chardy is only 1-2 vs. Lefties.
Year-to-Date, Chardy is 1-4 on Hard, but
    12-8 on Clay.
Young is coming off a FR loss in Olympics to
Seppi, 4-6/4-6, it is surprising he managed to
take 8 games against Seppi on Grass, Young's
    worst surface.

The match is on a neutral facility, Young USA
and Chardy France, being played in Toronto.
Young has a colorful and controversial past.
He was discovered as a youth and mentored by
McEnroe, but has had issues with USTA, concerning differences of opinion on training between USTA and his
parents. Last year there was a twitter tirade
    he had to apologize for.

Pick: 11am Rogers Cup first round
    Donald Young +210
    to taste a victory.

Cant argue with any of that. But we are talking about D Young Snowball. He's a born loser. Seen him whine with my own eyes. It was disgusting to watch. Might be worth a shot. I'm staying away bec he has played ok lately. Chardy is a bulldog. Tough call IMO.
    Good luck brotha.

he has to win at some point, but i would never bet on a guy who lost 15 straight matches. should be an absolute shitshow of a match, break points and unforced errors everywhere. GL.

Snowball, for what it's worth, I'm with you on this one. Not saying the moneyline cashes, but it's Young or pass with those odds. You are smart to point out the surface advantage he has.

That said, I don't know that Young is bettable this early in the week. More of a "I'm up this week so what the hell.". But I DO think he has better than a coin flip chance.

Are you just making a play on the ML or will you have something on the +3.5 as well?

That is the funniest part of your entire write-up ... the "next big thing" took a set off a kid who hasn't even fully turned pro yet ... guess when you're dumpster meat, you have to search for something positive.

I fail to see plenty of top tier competition he has lost to. Johnson, Russell 9twice0, Jamie Baker, Mathieu, Sweeting ... those are all guys that God's gift to tennis should beat.

Young is unbackable till he wins a match. I think plenty of people have probably lost week after week thinking he was due for a win ...

Mind you Chardy is a flake too and not much in the way of a trustworthy side which makes this match to me an absolute pass.

cannot see how you can bet Young at this point. He has been horrible against the spread as well.

1st set Young. Lookin good so far. Still stand to my statement above. Dude has more talent then most players he loses too, but he feels the need to hit every ground stroke 500 mph into the net every time he gets frustrated. Needs a real coach.

Chardy is the definition of choke artist. Had like 3 or 4 set points all with second serves and misses the easiest shots. It's hilarious to watch.

Even if it's 5-0, 40-0 in Chardy's favor, nothing is a sure thing with him, but it does appear that Young is cooked.

he will win eventually. i'll probably even back him in his next match.
    eventually it will pay.
it was just hard seeing him up nicely then crumble today.

I'll get it back in 15mins here with US Mens Beach Volleyball.
yes I am laying (-370) because they are playing the 17th seed.

LoL. That is the problem. People have been saying that for months and keep wasting money on this idiot. I think some people just bet him now so they can say I told you so! Problem is going 1 for 20 doing thay is a terrible idea. Kind of surprised he hasn't done it yet, but he needs to go drop down to Challengers again and pick off some dumpster meat with less game than he possesses. Might be a hard find.
