    Wimbledon parlay ideas

    After a successful run during the French Open, I've decided to make another thread dedicated to grand-slam parlay ideas.

    As those of you who followed my last thread know, I love to research and put heavy chalk parlays together that have a low risk of failure. Nothing is foolproof, because gambling and sports are both full of surprises. I put a solid amount of work into these projects, however, as grand slams and college football season are the two times when you can exploit lopsided matchups.

    Anyway, enough with the boring stuff ... Let's start the sharing and discussion of ideas. Here's a couple parlay ideas for day one of Wimbledon.


    Idea 1:

    Berdych ML
    Gasquet ML
    Youzhny ML
    Radwanska ML
    Petrova ML


    Idea 2:

    Malisse ML
    Pironkova ML


    First, let me stress that I may not have entered my bets for the next day when I post these ideas. Sometimes I'll add another player, or I'll drop one after getting more info on the weather or about an illness. Other times, a line will move too much for it to be worth putting in a parlay. Thus, the actual ticket I post may not always be 100 percent identical to the posted ideas, but I'd rather share my ideas early while everyone can see them and have time to make their own decisions.

    I have done most of the research, and I feel like the five players in parlay idea No. 1 are all likely to advance with relative ease. Any bet you make is at your own risk and is your own decision. You are an adult with his/her own free will, and you are the one who decides whether you're comfortable with making a bet.

    Berdych didn't look awesome in Halle, and he did lose to Gulbis in Memphis in the past, but he should have no trouble with Gulbis tomorrow. I think Berdych has a draw he can take advantage of, but hopefully he won't be looking too far ahead.

    Gasquet has a tricky opponent in Kamke. Kamke has a decent grass-court resume, but his history at Wimbledon doesn't compare to Gasquet's. Kamke lost to a Chinese qualifier at Halle, and it wasn't even close. The one thing that worries me about Gasquet is his loss to Matosevic in Eastbourne, but he cruised through the first set 6-1 and just got stupid. I'm sure Kamke will play better tomorrow than he has in recent times, but he looks a long way off from beating anyone in the Top 25.

    Youzhny has a good grass-court history, looked to be in good shape at the Halle tourney until he ran into Federer, and he's playing Donald Young. Enough said. The faster courts might help Young hang around, but Youzhny should be able to fend off a good effort from the American.

    Radwanksa and Petrova have manageable opponents, and it's grand slam time. Petrova looked great last week, steamrolling the competition at the tournament in Holland. She appears to be rounding into form and has a good enough game on the grass courts to at least get through a couple rounds. Radwanska has a tendency to lose to sorry opponents, and Rybarikova has defeated her before ... it was qualifying for a tournament in Istanbul when Radwanska was 17, though.

    You know how it is with WTA, though. No one is safe. Still, I believe Radwanska and Petrova should be able to advance even if they don't play their best tennis.

    The Malisse-Pironkova idea is a small-chalk parlay for those who hate laying juice. I probably won't bet this, but Pironkova's record at the last two Wimbledons speaks for itself. I'd be surprised if she lost tomorrow. Malisse, meanwhile, has a tricky opponent in Matosevic. It is not typical of Malisse to exit Wimbledon in the first round, and I think his experience combined with his ability to play at his best on the grass will help him pull out a hard-fought victory.

    Well, Wimbledon is going to get off to a miserable start for me ... Gotta give credit to Gulbis for serving so well. Berdych hasn't really even had much of a chance to win return games, and he always tightens up in tiebreaks.

    I saw this as an easier win for Berdych. Didn't think he'd be in so many crucial spots, otherwise I never would have trusted the guy.

    But good for Gulbis. This is a great win for the guy, and he earned it.

    Berdych officially moves to the blacklist permanently, even though this was more about how well Gulbis has served and dictated the tempo of the match.

    I just have to throw this one away and try to regroup with a better play for tomorrow ... Sorry guys. Hopefully you didn't tail and won't be eating Ramen for at least a few days like I will.

    Tough loss on Berdy , PHTown. He looked like crap today, his movement was all outta whack. You'll get em on the next one. I put together this last minute 6 teamer last night. Didnt have time to research, just picked on instinct. Hopefully Almagro can pull through.

    I am not going to post for people who are just going to wait until I finally lose a play and jump all over me. I'm sorry to those of you were thankful and gracious throughout the French Open, but apparently there are some who think I'm an "idiot" for losing one play despite all the success I've had in the past.

    Who the hell are you pal? If you knew two cents worth of anything in capping, parlays have very good value in tennis betting. Don't listen to this MALETAJA idiot.     How confident are you in Paire? I'm thinking of throwing him in an open parlay to close it but hesitant. Thinking i should just throw a guarantee like Nadal or something but I won't make as much money.
