I've always thought the kiss of death for a tennis player was to be a -120 to -200 favorite. With tennis for degenerate after hours gamblers, it seems that those lines are ripe for the picking by gamblers chasing losses, and frequently lose.
The last 24 hours have seen a number of small favorites cash.
Which leads us to:
Andy Murray .
Much like Tipsy, what big match has Gasquet ever won? Oddsmakers are suggesting Gasquet is a live dog at these odds for sure.
I'm going to roll with the slight favorite this time.
I don't think it's low due to the back injury. I think it's accurate because Gasquet played solid tennis on clay/beat him in Rome and Murray was so-so on clay before and after the injury. If Murray had beaten him in Rome and not gotten whipped in the last two sets of that match - probably be closer to -200.
I understand. I just know in tennis especially you don't really know what's going to happen until midway through the 2nd game. I have seen countless matches just like this up 6-1 and then lose the next 3 straight. We both cashed on Murray so that's all that matters.
