Wrong. Some people don't like him and thus made stupid comments like that.

And I agree with jj. This is a great period for men's tennis.

Djokovic, Nadal, Federer, Murray. Even guys like Ferrer, Tsonga, Del Potro, and Berdych are pretty damn good.

Rare tennis thread by jj that is on point.

when fed was his best, it took him 5 sets to beat agassi that wasn't even close to being as good as he was 10 years prior.

No tennis is not better now, technology is. And yes, go to the tennis forums on other sites. Most people do not like djokovic.

Lendl is closer to being the goat then anyone

I don't care if you like him or not. What you said was flat out wrong, regardless of your personal animus towards him.

Lendl most closely resembles a goat? I won't challenge that.

when fed was his best, it took him 5 sets to beat agassi that wasn't even close to being as good as he was 10 years prior.
Federer beat Agassi eight times, and half of those wins were in straight sets.

Federer also defeated Sampras in their only meeting.

Federer and Agassi never played a 5-setter.

Do yourself a favour and watch a replay of the 2008 Wimbledon final. Equipment doesn't explain that, it was tennis like it had never been seen before and was a privilege to watch.

Laver, Borg, MacEnroe, Lendl, Wilander and Sampras were all terrific players but they didn't face the same depth of competition that we have now. Sampras' career could have been double its actual length and he would never have won the French Open, and the same could be said of Wilander/Lendl at Wimebldon. The top players today don't have real weaknesses.

    2004 US open, they played a five setter. Federer prevailed 6-3 2-6 7-5 3-6 6-3

But warrior cherry picked one match. What about their next three matches, one at the Australian Open, where Federer cleaned Agassi's clock?

All you people that like to compare era's

Let's stick a wooden racket on nadal and see how he does. go ahead and say he would be champ. you will disagree with me just because i made the thread and that is a fact.

    All great players of course

Sampras/Fed would split all the time

Lendl definitely could hold his own with Joker /Nadal and and Fed

People dont realize lendl was in a ton of semis and grand slam finals and lost.massive talent but did get tight and quit while he was behind

Todays top players much tougher mentally and more intense

back in the 90s there were alot more clay court specialist, not so much today.

I like lendl because he played guys all the way from borg to sampras and aggassi

Sampras would do much better on clay now but would lose to federer pretty much every time now on clay

Agassi was doped up to the eyeballs, everybody on tour knew it. Not talking about meth either.

I think Edberg also could of held his own because of the serve and volley

    McEnroe would of been tough

Conners wiped right off the fukkin court by todays hard hitter
