    AusOpen

This is my favorite major of the year. I love the great weather and late night tennis action! Would love to hear some thoughts about this years draw both men and women's. Anybody have any sleepers or good value plays?

Tough one. I'm tempted to say yeah he'll win it but I think this will be one of the last good chances Federer has as well to win a slam again and unlike Rafa, I think Roger will pose a threat to Novak if they meet in the final.

For me it's between those two and Nadal and Murray won't be there.

On the other hand, in terms of more speculative bets, I'm seriously tempted to put a tenner on each of the following

    1. Tsonga
    2. Del Potro
    3. Tomic
    4. Fish

I'm getting 1/101 odds on Fish! Now it would take a miracle for him to win it but it is a purely speculative bet. Do I mind losing $10 to possibly make $1000 if he plays the tourney of his life? Nah.

And I think for young talented Tomic, this tournament is coming too soon but then again with home support, who knows! Baghdatis has strong support in Australia too but I just don't think he has it to be champ and Hewitt I wouldn't bet on even if given 1/1000000 odds.

Fish, Tomic, Tsonga and Del Potro worth a tenner each though you guys think? If any of them wins, you make quite a bit starting at $100 profit for Del Potro in my sportsbook, if Tsonga wins, you earn a little more and if Tomic or Fish win you make TONS

Monfils is tempting at 1 / 81 as well but I just don't see him winning. Berdych would be my 5th speculative choice.

What do you guys think overall?

For me it'll be Djoko or Roger but I don't mind potentially losing $50 on speculative bets when the upside potential is as much as $1000 gain on someone like Fish. And although I think one of of the favourites will take it, I think the underdogs have more chances to take this 1st big tourney of the year than they would for any other tournament and have in recent times so I think it's worth going for some long-shots.

    Opinions? shari?

I like your theory. Seems like really good value however I think the Open will be dominated by the top players. Your have a good theory but rather than get cute I am going to take the top players which means laying the chalk as much as I hate to

same toughts. The bookies gonna think that fantastic 4 walking to the semifinal. I think its mistake. They are not gods anymore
I think 2-nd group is much stronger than ever. And it not gonna be walking to the semifinal
    I just watched
    1-19 Del Portro
    1:20 Tsonga
    1:90 Tomic
    1:250 Fish!
    best bookies

The million dollar question would be. Who will be able to beat top4 guys in good shape

If someone on your group wins u get 1:6 1:7 money back
If someone makes final u already double your money at least, if u are hedging

Where you getting those odds? They're much better than what I have.

Adam, yeah like I said for me it'll be realistically between Fed or Djoker, but I think given the extremely tempting odds, a few from that 2nd group are worth a small amount of money you don't mind losing for a potentially much bigger gain.
