Anyone liking that price on the old man? He's playing JCF who is at -111. The match is being played in Croatia which gives Ljubicic a little advantage since the crowd will be on his side. However, the match is on clay which gives JCF an edge. Ljubicic is old, but he's only 11 months older than JCF. Ljubicic holds the head to head 3-2 with 2 of those wins coming on clay. JCF ha been on a roll but he hasn't played anyone except Youzhny who is always up and down. Ljubicic hasn't played since Wimbledon, but none of the great players have either. JCF didn't even play Wimbledon. He also didn't play the French where Ljubicic made it to the 4th round beating Devvarman, Querrey, and Verdasco before getting bounced by the Champion Nadal. JCF's best surface is clay but Ljubicic isn't bad on clay either. Ljubicic is the better player and will have a big power advantage. What do you people think?
I'm on JCF. He owns this tournament although he did not play well in his opener. The home court edge here is overrated IMO. Old Man River really hasn't used this "home court" tournament to his advantage historically. Mostly depends on JCF's fitness I think.
Ljubicic's 1st serve is a big reason why he lost. 27/75 which is 36%. Fukkin horrible. His serve is his best weapon and he couldn't get it in. Ferrero was able to take offense and pounded Ljubicic.
Ljubicic is not old, he just looks old LOL but he is a very, very soldi player. I remember watching his match against Andy Murray on the clay courts and he looked outstanding, even though he lost the match.
