Matchbook - delayed display of matched bet

Here's what happened to me last week on a NBA H2 market:

I submitted an offer and it hadn't been matched by nearing time to the start of H2
So I cancelled the offer and went and placed the bet with Pinnacle instead

I returned to Matchbook and put up another offer
Then as the game was about to recommence I cancelled that offer
But up came a message referring to to an already matched bet.
Lo and behold! the page then displayed the matching of my ORIGINAL bet
And the market was then closed as H2 began

Matchbook have told me that their logs show no evidence of my attempt to cancel either bet!
And they have offered no explanation of why the original bet matching didn't show up until the market closed other than to suggest I talk to my ISP about a slow connection!
Sure! So slow that it displayed the second offer I posted before the earlier matching of the fist offer?

This is far from the first time I've noticed delayed displays of offers, matches etc at Matchbook but they tell me nobody else has reported it.

Surely I'm not the only one?

Yes I had a few occasions that betting page does not refresh at all. What I do is to click "Matched Bets" to check if my offer has been matched or not. Click "refresh" link if you are already in matched bets section. The worst cases is when it is off market, and I still don't know if my offer is matched or not, I have to use Report to check. It is a pain.

I believe when API programs are in use, things sometimes get slowed down. I have had the delay happen to me. I am talking about delay of a second or two. On rare occasion, a longer delay happens. This of course causes immediate concern during live betting.

Here is what I do: when I make an offer, I look to see if the money is deducted from available funds. When I cancel the bet I wait to see the money put back into my available balance. It should be simultaneous. By doing this, it allows you to know for sure the bet is either active or has been cancelled.

I've experienced this phenomenon as well, so don't feel alone. They're definitely talking out their ass about it never being reported before, because I've raised holy hell myself a couple of times that such a delay in reporting a match resulted in my being serious overexposed on a position. They shrug, say they've never heard of such a thing happening, and tell you to hit the road if you don't like it.

This kind of scenario, more than anything else, is why we need serious competition in the exchange sector of the sports betting industry.

I have never experienced this issue quite the way you described it, but there is another way I sometimes wind up betting more than I intended...

Let's say you have an open order of GB +107... Then you decide to amend the order to GB +106... You better cancel that +107 order first. If you use the function which allows you to edit and resubmit the offer, sometimes someone will have come along and put in a large request on the other side (say ATL -106) in the meantime, and when you roll the +107 to +106 and hit resubmit, you wind up getting filled on BOTH the original and "new" order.

Matchbook needs a serious infusion of new management. How can you not take ** deposits ?

I had a player complaint earlier against Matchbook with almost identical facts.

Justin, are you getting any sense that the new owners of Matchbook have an eye toward improving the interface, or is it just a change to move financially solvent ownership with no new priorities?

Justin: Was the earlier dispute resolved in the players favor?

    Nothing seems to change.
