In the UK we can bet in betting shops/offices most of which are run by companies like Ladbrokes and Coral.

This is perfectly safe in terms of being able to collect winnings but just like their online operations, their odds are not so competitive and you will be limited (or shown the door) if you win consistently. On the plus side, they have thousands of branches.

Betting in a "pub" with an unlicensed bookie is both illegal and without any rights in case you get stiffed.

In a shop you always get pay, on the internet they can always get away with cancel bets or closing accounts, not sure but in the shop you would have to be realy realy good for they dont accept your bets, and that would never be a problem in the UK because you have betting every where.

Just curious if you are a winner, how do they cut your limit?(I think they can't) In fact I'll learn this, I'll move to UK two months later

Not too much to say really. A typical shop would look something like this.

They will not stop you from cashing out but if you win consistently you will not be allowed to bet at that shop anymore. As mentioned however, Ladbrokes, Coral and William Hill all have thousands of shops.

Single bets are OK but most soccer lines are quoted as 12X which usually makes them uncompetitive compared with Betfair, Pinnacle etc. Most customers in these shops tend to be small stakes bettors so obviously if you are going in as someone who is not known by the staff and placing a bet of £500 or so, they will be looking out for you. As far as I know, 'banning' is at the discretion of the manager of the branch.

    Yes.
There is nothing to stop you getting a friend to place bets or betting at another branch.

No they will not threaten you, these are licensed and regulated shops.

I really don't know how long you would be banned for but it would be months/years, not days.

Also, how much would they consider too much? 1000 eu earnings?

now i dont mean that i will bet a 1000 dollar right away but if i bet 50 and 50 to build to 1000, will i still be banned

    no further questions from me,
    Cheers and thanks

I would expect you to be able to 'fly under the radar' with that sort of strategy.

"Under the radar" = should be safe, yes.

One thing I should have mentioned is that all the odds in these shops are quoted in the UK fractional style.

    So 1.50 (-200) would be 1/2
    and 2.75 (+175) would be 7/4
    etc etc

I hate this fractional style. I think British people invented it for horse racing. I admit it is so usuall in horseracing (1/4, 1/13½ , 1/54 etc..)
but I'm confused when I take a bet.
