Diamond Sportsbook and currency exchange rates

    Hi,

I have a few questions regarding sportsbooks and how they threat accounts with different currencies.
I registered with Diamond Sportsbook in 2009, and they offerent Norwegian Currency (NOK) as an option for the account balance. So I chose this option, as I have also been doing with Pinnacle, Neteller and Moneybookers.

However I was really surprised how this book were eating into my profits for each deposit and withdrawal.

    1) They offered a signup-bonus of $500.
I deposited the correct amount in Norwegian currency to get the full bonus. $500 would be about 3,000 Norwegian Krowns. However they just credited my account with 500 NOK (which equals about $83). I talked to their live-support online, and after some back and forth they understood the problem and corrected it.

During the livechat, I was very surprised that the support staff asked me for my account password(!), I told them i have never been asked to give out my password before, and I was very skeptical to do so. The support staff got a little rude and annoyed about my concern, and told me if I wanted any help I would have to give my password to him. Is this really normal practice at the bookies? I have had accounts with about 8 books, and never experienced to be asked for my password before. I find it a huge risk to give out that kind of information, it feels like giving out my creditcard info. I asked him if i could change my password after he was done, and he confirmed that was possible - I just had to tell him what I wanted my new password to be...!

Actually i think i should have just closed my account right then, but anyway I gave him my password and he fixed the bonus currency-problem. (i will never accept to be asked for this again in the future, that's for sure).

What's SBR's stand on bookie support staff asing for customers passwords?

    2) When i did my initial deposit, I also discovered that the book had charged me several hundred dollars in currency exchange fees..! I was a little shocked, I thought I had read all their info, but that I must have missed. I asked the support where they inform of these large fees, and they were not able to tell me where that information was published. his boss couldn't tell either.

I then had to do the 6 x rollover and when I finally were allowed to withdraw all my money from Diamond, I got charged with the same currency exchange fee AGAIN (this time about $200). Diamond seems like a good book all in all, but that definately isn't the case for customers using other currencies than USD. It will be very hard to not only beat the juice, but then also the even bigger cost of exchange fees. Which make this book useless if one is not using a dollar-account.

What's SBR's thoughts on these exchange rate fees?
Any other posters here have similar experiences with any bookies?

As mentioned I have had my Pinnaclesports-account in Norwegian Currency for many years, and they take NO extra fees for deposits or withdrawals compared to dollar-accounts. they may be an A+ book, but for non-american customers they definately do not seem like it..
