Risk Worth The Reward Type Books

We all know that some books out there are just a losing proposition to use, while others are usable for certain purposes. However which average books (SBR Rated C or lower) offer the best of both worlds in the following categories:

    Bonuses
    promt payouts
    withdraw fees
    slow moving lines
    none or slow delay times
    Slow trigger on profiling

Ok guys, Share some of those hidden gems.

TopCat (SBR Rated C) is a book that I feel would fit this mold in regards to risk/reward factor. They offer either low vig or a decent bonus. Also they do pay out pretty promptly, and the fees are fairly competitive to everyone else.

SIA (rated D+ ) While I know they did have an issue over a year ago with confiscations, they treated me well until I was shown the door. Even then it took almost a year to be shown it.

SIA is an interesting case, I too was able to 'get away with it' until I was shown the door, and they showed it to me with more honor and grace than some higher rated sportsbooks did later on, but the risk is real.

If you're willing to look at this as a pure e.v. calculation, which more people should, then going after lower rated books is a strong strategy for those not looking to bet that large. An extra edge on every bet is a huge advantage once compounded, and can end up dwarfing even a substantial one-time risk that you will not be paid. You simply must do this with your eyes open, understanding what can happen. There's no getting around the risk of not getting paid, but in general I strongly suspect such things are rarer than you think if you stay out of scam territory and don't do anything abusive.

I have had very good experience with BETJOINT (C-). Some nice MLB lines. Decent bonuses. They give me credit for currency conversion on cash deposits - I've never known anyone else to do that. If they are slow on a payout (over 72 hours, I think it is) they give you a hundred bucks or something.

I read a couple of complaints against them. They involved guys betting both sides of the same game when freeplay money was involved. Bet Joint didn't look great in those complaints but I would never be betting anything like that so it doesn't worry me.

But of course they haven't been around for all that long so as always, use them at your own risk.

24/7, Your right about SIA. As long as you can fight off them showing you the door that is.

Mudcat, It looks like they are surviving the dog days of summer thus far, because I have yet to see any processing issues about them recently.

What do you guys think about BetEagle possibly being part of this list? I've been reading a lot of good things about them over the past couple of months, however I just really never gave them much considering until maybe about a week or so ago.

Also, I'd like to get everyones current thoughts about InstantActionSports these days. I'm still undecided if they still qualify to make the cut after the last bonus confiscation mess players had to endure.

I personally like SIA, notwithstanding their outstanding disputes with possible multi-account players. I don't know of anyone that had problems who didn't have multiple accounts, or share a household.

Another one I like is BetPop. I'm not aware of any complaints with them.

BETPOP my primary book until NFL season, is B- so I don't think it qualifies as a hidden gem by BBD standards. The constant phone call is the only think I hate about this place. Since I haven't had to reload in well over a month, it's been pretty quiet.

My thoughts based on what I have heard are these: they don't look good right now. They look similar to WagerWeb in that they have decided their problem is bonuses - but they are dealing with it in a dishonest/unethical way.

It's like, "HEY! CHECK US OUT AND THIS BONUS WE OFFER!" But there is also the fine print, We have rules against professionals, a professional being defined as anyone who takes a bonus and doesn't lose.

Any discussion of risk-versus-reward books for me has to include Royal/SBG. There is risk, no question. But with all the reward I have had from them over the years, they could probably stiff me for 40K and I would still be ahead.

That's what risk-versus-reward is all about.

That is almost completely due to bonuses. Royal used to throw those bonuses around like drunken sailors. There were times they had pretty amazing lines on certain things too but I haven't seen that for awhile. Things have calmed down somewhat on the bonuses but I still picked up a nice one a couple weeks ago.

I'm not recommending anyone else play there but that has been my experience.

They use the same software as Cris and LasPalmas uses, which is the Digital Gaming Solutions software sir.

I personally don't mind that software at all myself, however others do. I guess one of the biggest gripes I've got against that s/w is that they round off the change on your wagers. Now thats one thing they do need to fix!

Sorry, but SBG/BetRoyal exceeds ANYONE's risk threshold.

If you beat them out of 20k, they will screw you. Period.

I have a dispute where SBG/Royal just stiffed a player out of $520k. Their defense? "We made a deal where he could never withdraw more than his deposits". I kid you not. That dispute will be published in the next couple days... But if you're thinking about giving them a chance, you're better off loaning money to a Nigerian lottery disperser.

Personally, my most successful Russian Roulette relationship was with a book called Sportbook911 a few years ago, who I believe had a C- or D+ rating with SBR at the time. I'm not sure what became of them, but that site apparently doesn't exist anymore.

They used to offer very generous bonuses, which I would go through like wildfire. Best part is I was losing consistently there, but scalping out profits at other sites so I would be getting continuous bonuses on top of the arbs. When I started to win there though, that obviously became a problem.

The bonus turned sticky, then my limits were reduced. After that I had to make sure that no more than 50% of my bets were on props, and soon after I was forbidden from making any prop bets on the Colorado Rockies (I kid you not). Towards the end my bonus privliges were revoked entirely, unless I promised to deposit more than $2,500, at which time I could gather up bonuses again. I declined, go figure. Finally, after my last deposit, my account was suspended because, and I quote, "Somebody else in Ontario had made a deposit for a similar amount less than 6 hours ago, so we're wondering if you're trying to pull one over on us."

That's pretty much when I decided to pass on the Mickey Mouse operations of the world and focus on Pinn, Greek and BetJam...

    Good info.

Just to reiterate what I said, I don't recommend anyone play there.

I remember you made mention of working on a big dispute involving them in another thread, however I had no idea the player got screwed out of this much coin.

This family of books is definitely not worth the risk, because there is no reward at the end.
