Battle of the Bonuses: Bodog vs. BetOnline

I've been lurking for a while but haven't posted much prior to now, had a question and wanted to have some of the others here give me their opinion. Reading a thread below about the cash vs. free play bonus, it seems the majority of folks recommend going free play and then taking as high a risk bets as the site will allow, 2 and 3 team parlays, underdogs with good payouts, etc.

My situation is that I'm looking to put a small bankroll into a site and want to put myself in the best position possible, basically I want to put four dime's into a site and attempt to exercise some self control and money management, follow some picks from around here, and see how I do.

If I go with Bodog I'll get a 25% ecash bonus, so basically regular ole' cash after a 3x rollover.

If I go with BetOnline, they offer a 45% first time depositor bonus but in the form of 'free play' funds, but with an 8x rollover. From what the rep explained to me, whether a bet wins or loses with free play, your risk amount is lost?

Unfortunately I don't have 20 grand sitting around to set up accounts all over the place and try to arb my way to victory so my options are somewhat limited.

So am I better off going Bodog with a $1000 ecash bonus, BetOnline with a $1800 'free play' bonus, or just split the difference between them and try to occasionally play the superior lines?

Oh and as an aside; the reason I'm comparing these two books and not mentioning any others is that they seem to have far and away the best initial deposit bonuses for the size that I'm looking at making, if there are any other books that also have A/B ratings which has similar or superior bonus options for a 4 dime deposit, feel free to enlighten and educate me.

    Thanks!

If it was me , I would place funds at Betonline. In my opinion , it is streets ahead of Bodog as a book.

I believe Legends has 30% cash on deposits over $200. No matter what it is best to have at least a couple books funded so you can shop for better lines.

also take into account that bodog perodicaly offers "free $10 bet" "free 100 bet" "free casino chip" etc. so have no rollover just free cash bet....

I had an initial 40% deposit 40% cash bonus on betrevolution with a 10x. A big advantage i noticed over the initial deposits offered by BetOnLin is that on brev the Roll over counts right away, I dont have to risk it first in order to start counting.

Check BetPhoenix also, they always have tons of promotions there, but i think that the roll over also requires you to risk it all first.

I would go with Bodog because of the lower rollover.

Will bodog give 1k in cash bonus ? Typically they are a non professional book, and to rollover even 3x on a 4k deposit with 25% is going to take 15k in action..getting in and out quickly would require some "pro" action.

BO Freeplay is good, but would hit them up for their 45% cash offer..with that level of deposit they will negotiate something.

My personal feeling is with that level of deposit, 2 books, dime apiece...BO, Phoenix, Heritage (if available to to you), Legends, BetJm, BoDog, JustBet (pick 2) and 2k in matchbook or a reduced juice shop...take advantage of the high bonus and scalp it out..repeat until all offers are taken advantage of.

Rollover is an amount that is required to be bet before you make a withdrawal. So if it is 3x deposit plus bonus and you deposit 100 w/ a 25% bonus you must bet 375 before taking money out (100 + (100*.25))*3 = 375. Amount bet is usually calculated by the lower of risk/win so for bets on favorites the amount "to win" and on dogs the amount risked.

Make sure you check each books rules before taking a bonus as they may have different (and harder) rollover requirements to meet.

You can't go wrong with either place, but Betonline has some interesting extras like the Mulligan bet, shutout bailout, and others...

I am not with either book right now but im thinkin of givin betonline a try here soon and taking them up on there bonus. They seem like they are really trying to be a good book.

I wouldnt even consider bodog at the moment- they seem "ok" but evey now and then there seems to be some shady shit going on with them. Like the dual lines issue- thats a real turn off for me. Its just not good business IMO.

I signed up with BETONLINE a few days ago and took the 100% free play match with a 14X rollover. Missed both of my free play wagers but I hit all but one of my regular wagers so it all worked out except for I now have a gigantic rollover. In the 5 days I have been playing there I will give you BO pros and cons thus far.

Pros:Great Customer service always very helpful
    competitive lines (standard vig)
    decent bonuses and promotions
Great mobile site (biggie for me)

Cons: cant parlay haltime lines and other same game lines for that matter
the website hangs up and clocks way too much for me. Basically is is too damn fancy.
It is easier to place wagers with my Blackberry than my computer.
I have yet to place a wager using the "NEW" version of their site. Classic version works sometimes but I think they have bandwidth issues.
I occasionally like to play a few hands of Blackjack and BO has their casino tuned to the lowest payout % possible. Just like Betjamaica and The Greek. You are crazy to play in their casinos.

Hopefully I can make this rollover and write back about the withdrawal process. I would say their B+ rating is accurate for now. Time will tell.

As far as your question about which bonus is better? Always take cash over freeplay in my book. You have to win the freeplay wager to get the cash in the first place. If you win with your free cash play you get your cash back plus what you won. Freeplays are a racket and books like to pass them off as the same as cash. BS.

As for BODOG, I dont play there so I cant comment on them but I know they are a very, very large book.
