IS BETRUSS founded by ABSOLUTE POKER scammers?

Hello all.. I represent some Absolute poker players who still feel we have been screwed for years by these guys prior to the big scandal that has been resolved by them but we feel this scam has been going on longer than they will ever admit but we have no proof other than an inside source from Absolute. We have been tracking the scam artists we feel have been involved such as AJ Grimard, and of course Scott Tom...as well as anyone else we feel benefitted from this scam. We have learned from your forums that a new sportsbook called BETRUSS.com has been formed by ex Absolute poker guys..scam executed by the previously mentioned culprits. We also now know that Russ of betruss.com is the former Absolute executive now forming this sportsbook who may also have been involved in the scam. Your forum also mentions a Powers guy who we have learned was a low level executive at nine.com but best friends with Mr. Grimard (Green) So we feel you guys should know this information before playing with them.

This was the last issue of sportsbooknews newsletter which led us here. I am posting the entire newsletter to show that I am not prejudicing betruss.com just in case we are wrong about our assumptions. Good luck all

The Following is the Sportsbooknews newsletter from Dec 1

    Hello all....

We are in the thick of football season. We hope you are kicking some sportsbook's ass and that get paid!!!

    Here's the latest sportsbook news.....

    BODOG FIGHTING FOR DOMAIN NAME

In its domain name court dispute in the state of Washington, Bodog is arguing that internet domain names are not property which can be seized by any court.Lawyers for the company have suggested there is no previously established case law in the state which permits internet domain names to be seized under Washington law.Bodog lost its domain names following legal action from a company called First technology, which Bodog insists is a “patent troll”.

Defence lawyer James Nguyen, a partner at internet legal specialists Foley & Lardner, has suggested that the court in Washington should look to the law established in Virginia which holds that domain names should not be subject to seizure. The defence team also argues that Bodog domain names cannot be transferred, because those names could not be used by third parties without infringing on Bodog trademarks. The Bodog motion argues that if the court does not have the power to permit seizure of trademarks, “it likewise should not have the power to seize or transfer domain names which contain those trademarks”.Bodog insists that the company named in the First Technology action, Bodog Entertainment Group SA, is a “defunct ex-supplier of data entry and domain management services”.

Calvin Ayre, Bodog founder, said: “This is a groundbreaking case in the muddy waters of internet law, and we are confident that we have many aspects in our favour to potentially solidify some clarity on this issue and our domains returned to us.”

As you know we are not BODOG fans, but we hope they win this case because we believe in their argument. What's right is right...

What's Holding Up iMEGA Online Gambling Decision?

The online gambling community is growing antsy as a decision by the Honorable Judge Copper in iMEGA vs. The US State Government is now taking over 60 days. Judge Cooper had initially stated that the decision would be made within 30 days, however, draft regulations were agreed upon by both sides entered just two days prior to that 30 day deadline.

Likewise, there has been plenty of activity in the Third District Court of Appeals related to the Internet, more specifically a child protection act that has been challenged on six different occasions. This and other related matters could be burdening that particular court right now.

But there is a more interesting development that could play a key role in the iMEGA lawsuit and ultimate decision.

A Federal Judge in Wisconsin this week rejected a request for 24,000 customer records made by federal prosecutors in Madison, the state capital.

The government's withdrawal came after a judge ruled the customers have a right to keep their reading habits from the government.

US Magistrate Judge Stephen Crocker wrote in a June ruling "The subpoena's chilling effect on expressive e-commerce would frost keyboards across America."

Federal prosecutors issued the subpoena last year and were looking for buyers who could be witnesses in the case to convict the city official who was a prolific seller of used books on Amazon.com.

Judge Cooper could be analyzing this decision and its relationship with the online gambling sector. In any event, the delay suggests that Judge Cooper is taking this very seriously.

    COSTA RICA SPORTSBOOK INSIDE NEWS.....

VIP Our men in the street tell us that VIP may be making a return to the US due to its struggling with out them. We would like to see them back,.

ABSOLUTE POKER SCANDAL... well we have learned that Scott Tom and his Father Phil Tom and others are targets of an FBI probe which commenced prior to the scandal supposedly perpetrated by Mr. AJ Green (Grimard) of his own accord. All the press releases in the world will not disguise the fact that this was a well organized scam by both Mr. Tom (scott), Mr. Green and other key level execs to launch an ill idvised sportsbook operation with many former employees of Heritage Sports, and possibly also for covering future legal expenses. Mr. Green and Mr. Tom are still running merrily through the streets of San Jose buying cars, property, and frequenting the local establishments of ill repute. Our insiders tell us something else big brewing there. We still recommend PokerStars. As soon as we find out the name and location of this scam sportsbook operation, we will advise and send out spies in there to get the scoop

BETUS under indictment with more to come from companies doing business with CurrenC WorldWide, LTD., of Road Town, Tortola, British Virgin Islands; Gateway Technologies, LLC., of Draper, Utah; Hill Financial Services, Inc., of Draper, Utah, and Las Vegas; and BetUS of Kanawahke, Canada. Feds say more indictments "certain" so beware before making new deposits here. IRS Special Agent in Charge Eddy said. "Laundering money from illegal activity such as illegal internet gambling is a crime. Regardless of how the money changes hands-via cash, check, wire transfers or ************-and regardless of where the money is stored-in a United States financial institution or an off shore bank-we will trace the funds and seize them. IRS Criminal Investigation will vigorously investigate and prosecute the owners and operators of these illegal enterprises to the fullest extent possible charged with RICO conspiracy, bank fraud, violations of the wire-wager act, and money laundering. So any books who used these firms to process transactions are on a higher risk level for both players and owners because who knows what the feds will do once they locate sportsbook bank accounts. Our spies report all is normal there operationally however.

Lazerwager.. we initially heard good things about these guys due to what seemed to be strong management (former Nine.com execs) and solid ownership. Our inside sources now tell us that in fact just the opposite is true. The initial mangement team has left, the owners are not in fact UK based as previouly reported, but are the same owners of previously failed sportsbook sexywagers.com, which we warned our clients about last year right before they folded. Our sources tell us that the book is now being run by a handicapper known as "The Iron Horse"..(an internet search turns up the name to be Carlo CAmpanella). We see this is as conflict of immense proportions for any Iron Horse clients. How can a handicapper be running a book when his job is to beat the book? Very Odd indeed..We also hear that the company continuously late pays its staff in cash and has not paid its affiliates, marketing or advertising guys yet. This is a real bad situation for a new sportsbook to be in after only a few months of operating. This clearly means that they are severely underfunded. We are trying to get one of our spies in there to see if we can issue a new recommendation. Therefore, we urge extreme caution in dealing with them and to get your money out immediately just to be safe until they prove themselves by paying out other players. So as of now we consider them extremely High Risk. We actually like their site though.

DGS Casinos again we warn our casino plyers to avoid any DGS casinos, yet some of you still don't learn. It seems that the backend can be easily manipulated by sportsbook operators to give the house extreme unfair advantages. If you are currently playing in a sportsbook's casino, find out what software they are using. If they tell you DGS or Digital GAming Solutions, avoid at all costs. We recommend any casino with Playtech software

Bookmaker.. our insiders tell us that things seems normal. Business as usual however payouts seem to be slowing....we will follow up

Diamond Sports. nothing new to report. Spies tell us all is normal.

BETED. looks like they were in fact victims of another sportsbook beating them of 17k because of soft lines in the much reported case against them that was reported in other sportsbook forums. We are working the streets to see who the naughty operator is. We still believe them to be underfunded as well. Use caution.

thats it for now.. remember.... our newletter is not an affiliate for any site. Any recommendations we make are strictly based on our opinion of your funds safety.

    Until next time..

    Hi PokerIsLife,

No signs that the individual from AP is associated with the scandal, outside of the obvious having worked for AP. We are going to visit soon and will ask for a statement on this issue and keep a close eye on them. If "AJ" is associated we should be able to find out.
