Bovada 5x sports rollover hard to beat

Maybe you all don’t agree, but most other books advertise huge bonuses with 12x rollovers and the bonus is a POS freeplay that cuts your bonus in half immediately.

Any other good offshore books for US players that have low rollovers and ~50%+ bonuses? None of that freeplay BS. Thanks in advance!

I agree. The one thing that sucks about Bovada bonuses, however, which most people don't realize is the following...

If you happen to place a future bet which resolves after the bonus expiration date, the wager voids. For example, let's say that back on October 1, 2021 you put $100 on the Cavaliers to win their division this season at +17500. Well, if Bovada used bonus funds for that wager (which you have no control over), then if the Cavs end up winning their division this upcoming April, you'd expect to be paid $17,500, right? Nope. Wager voided, $100 stake back.

There's no way to know if bonus funds have been used on wagers once they are sitting in your Open Bets. You won't know if this is the case until it comes time for the wager to be graded.

No other offshore book behaved in this manner as far as I know, and it's a very deceptive practice.

Thanks for the feedback. Sounds like no one else has another good option that comes close?

Luckily I don’t play futures. Thanks again! More opinions welcome!

Y’all are losing focus. Bonus game is tight with Bovada. Who else offers similar terms. If you are playing futures, you are talking about a different risk timeframe for books. It’s not on the same plane.

All I'm saying is that if you're the kind of player who makes both short-term plays and occasionally places a long-term future bet (like a lot of folks), if you decide that you want to place a future at Bovada, you have to be really careful about making sure your cash & bonus balances aren't such that the wager will come out of your bonus funds. Because otherwise, that stake is going to go to waste and any winnings will be void. It's not obvious to anyone that it works that way, and frankly it sucks that it does.

Only bad thing is max risk of 50% of deposit amount.

I've not had any problems ignoring that rule- however, it's still in the rules. So they could give you problems if you don't follow.

You can do that without any problems. They just count maximum of 50% of your amount towards the rollover. I have been betting more than 50% without problems.

Bovada bonus is about as good as it gets. They are much more clever than most books though. They design their bonuses for bust out very well. If you do not know how to handle a bonus, they will eat your lunch.

Yes, Bovada. Again- I haven't personally had issues. But I believe they can use that T&C of the 50% rule to void winnings if they wanted.

No, this isn't true. At least not from what I've experienced. I know WagerWeb and some other books will do this. Where your bet will only count toward a portion of the rollover. If you bet $1,000 it will count as $1,000 towards rollover on Bovada. They just don't want you risking more than 50% of your deposit per bet. Of course, smart players will know how to "circumvent" this rule that they have.

Everyone has different. In my account, I have like 15 available bonuses I can take right now with all different terms.

    Some are 100% up to $300 5x, some 50% up to $500 10x, others 100% $750 5x, 75% $750 10x. There are all different ones.

Mine are all sports/poker/casino/poker. Just with different clearing rates as you can see in Mr. NBA's post. 5x,5x,50x.

This isn't true. You can see whether a bet was placed using bonus or cash in your open bets transaction list.

The first part of the bet transaction says "Placed - Single -> To Win $XXXX" and it's blue text. That part of the transaction text is clickable, and when you click it, it opens up a pop-up window that shows the open bet details.

Part of the details are a breakdown showing whether cash funds or bonus funds were used and how much of each were used. So it's easy to go through your transactions and see which are attached to bonuses and which aren't.

The bigger issue is not being able to see exactly which bonus each bet is attached to, which the system does not show and which you have to track yourself and is a pain in the ass.

It would be VERY useful to be able to match bets to a specific bonus because sometimes you may want to forfeit the bonus if it's a sure loser and you want your rollover action to skip over that loser and be applied to potential winning bets instead.

This can make a huge difference and is a painful lesson to learn. This scenario happens all the time: Deposit, take bonus money, use bonus to bet a future. After a couple months, the future bet is sunk with no chance of winning. However the bonus is still active and your action will go towards fulfilling that rollover even though it's a loser.

The solution is to forfeit the bonus so it comes out of the system and your rollover action then goes towards an active bonus.

There are several problems with this though: if you haven't tracked exactly which bonus is associated with which bets, then you don't know which bonus to forfeit and for people that have numerous bonuses stacked up it becomes more difficult. It also occurs that you've split bonus money between several bets, so if you got a $1000 bonus and put $950 on a losing future but $50 on a winning one, you can't forfeit the bonus without forfeiting the winning bet.

Bottom line is if you use Bovada bonuses often, it pays to keep very careful records tracking every dollar if you want your rollover action to be used most efficiently. It's a pain and I wish there was a way within their system to do it automatically.

Bovada is excellent, they have ruined other books for me. BOL called me and offered me a 1k bonus match, I asked about the rollover and they said 12x was the best they could do, unreal. Like someone else said, they give you outstanding bonuses WEEKLY, at 5x RO.

Bovada pays fast, has amazing live betting and so many betting options, love them.

I received a decent 5x rollover bonus in email to play March Madness. A bit worried as I have a balance currently at Bovada and their terms state.

"A list of what may be deemed abuse may include but is not limited to: Cashing out for the purpose of re-depositing with a bonus or depositing on top of an existing balance."

So it would seem I cannot use this bonus right?

If I signup now, i am depositing over an existing balance. If i withdraw first, it could be seen as cashing out for the purpose of re-depositing with a bonus.

    Right?

I guess while on the topic of Bovada bonuses, they seem a little fuzzy on forfeiting them. They state if you forfeit a bonus you will lose the bonus (duh) but also all funds won using the bonus. Is there anywhere on the site to verify which funds were won using the bonus?

Prior to clearing a bonus they show "Locked Funds" and "Bonus Funds", but what if any of the non-bonus funds are forfeit if you forfeit the bonus?

When you place a bet on Bovada, the funds used for the bet are withdrawn in this order: 1. Available to Withdraw, 2. Locked Funds, 3. Bonus Funds.

Let's assume, for example, that you have $100 available, $100 locked and $100 bonus. If you place a bet for $100, your full "available to withdraw" funds will be used and any profit plus the wager will go into that bucket. If instead you place a bet for $200, your "available to withdraw" and locked funds buckets will be used in full and profits/wager will go into those two buckets (evenly split, of course since your wager used the same amount from each bucket).

If you decide to wager all $300 of your account balance and your bet wins, this will cause 1/3 of the profit/wager to go into the bonus funds bucket (the $100 drawn from this bucket for the wager plus the profit from this portion of the wager). If you then decide to forfeit your bonus, you will lose the initial $100 that was in the bonus bucket, as well as the profit that went into that bucket. You would keep all locked and "available to withdraw" funds.

Hope this makes sense and helps.

    Slight, but important correction...

    1. Bonus Funds (from converted rewards points)
    2. Available to Withdraw
    3. Locked Funds
    4. Bonus Funds (from deposit match)

Yeah, it's undocumented, confusing, and just sucks in general.

They just dropped two March Madness bonuses in my account. One for 100% up to $250 and the other is 125% up to $350 with 5x r/o. Cool, got 16 games to bet on.

It seems wild that you can withdraw funds ( even on a winning account) and immediately redeposit for a bonus. They are huge and smart, can someone explain to me how this is a profitable policy?
