Betfair closed account again after 2 years, over 4500 pounds blocked, need help

    Hi guys,

Unfortunately it happens to me for the second time.

The first time was described here, account opened then after escalation in April 2020 :

    https://www.sportsbookreview.com/for...r-account.html

At that time betfair security department recognized the fault and reopened the account (someone said i have transfered money over poker, as i havent bet on poker for 12 years ).

Shortly, i have an account there since 2006, im doing all the years almost the same - sports inplay trading. Well almost because betfair changed functionality and bet type maybe exact 2 years ago.

I bet mostly basketball, rugby union, rugby league, handball and practically no more volleyball as there is no liquidity for 1-2 years. And of course Olympic sports.

I have i dunno how many bets over these years 60000 or 200000 bets and i have one and only single account.

At last but not least, i have generated to them up to date exact 60000 UK pounds commissions.

In the past 3 weeks i was wondering and observing that liquidity gone practically to zero on many events. There wasnt even bot or lets called market maker ( Greek , Italian , Austrian, even some Spanish basketball ) . It was hardly to get anything matched. I was wondering why, well the answer might be there are many accounts closed....

So after 100000 bets betfair claims I do practice fraudulent activity ( as im not told what is the exact reason).

I have contacted twice the support , they say it cant be escalated or revised.

    https://support.betfair.com/app/home...so.betfair.com

I have been then transferred to an escalation team twice, they double checked with the security department within 2 minutes ( wow , last time it took 48 hours at least ).

Also they say the email address escalations@betfair.com or accountsecurity@betfair.com are no more manned and there are no other ways to contact them per email.

I told them via chat, i might get heart attack because someone is sitting in an office or works from home and decides to close an account.

Im almost sure what could be the reason, as i won around 1000 pounds last week from a bot ( or someone who uses any kind of program) but on the other i had handicap bets on rugby , where i won 250 pounds for example.

And on Monday i got the email with the account closure.

I believe, they think those accounts are related , however i swear i have no relation with any other person. And after that i paid them 300 pounds weekly commission because of the Premium Charge. If i had a relation i would transfer money from my account to any other account and escape the Premium Charge. Well with that liquidity there is no wonder, that the bets are made only by few people. Next you will see only the bot placing bets ....

I will continue to contact them in the hope to reach someone to reverse this decision. Unfortunately my chances here are not higher then 5 %.

Anyone can help with any advice or other contact ways ?

    Thanks a lot

There’s an old saying in Tennessee. I know it’s in Texas, it’s probably in Tennessee. Fool me once, shame on, shame on you. You can’t get fooled again.

Im speechless, they dont want to share any details and they claim case is been escalated.

I have repeated many times that im customer for 16 years and that they already closed the account by mistake , by HUGE mistake ....

They insist the decision is correct but i dont know what is this the reason.

I have placed bets and they were matched 5, 10 or 30 mins later form someone. And i covered some of the bets.

I guess they believe im involved in money laundering ....

I tried to give an explanation but as i dont know the reason i cant proof they are wrong.

Beside that those are winnings within months - they can cancel those 800 or 1000 or 1200 pounds but to confiscate the rest of 4000 and to close the account is ridiculous.

Paddy Power wants to change the name of Betfair to BETUNFAIR.

    Any help is appreciated

If they say your matter has gone to the escalation team, ask for a complaint ticket number so you can ask IBAS to intervene is the next step.

Thanks for the reply Optional, you are the first one that tries to help me.

I have 1 or more complaints numbers. I will try to contact IBAS but cant you tell me here or pm how, where at ibas and what you should i write ?

After every contact and request betfair unwillingness start to share what is the reason. So i think i have now a little more info, however the answer of complaint Number 2 and N 3 is somehow contradictory.

All in all, they believe im involved in money laundering from someones account to mine. i have stated at least 5 times that this account is since 16 years and this is a big nonsense that i do something like money laundering. if i was involved i would have transfer let say 1, 5 , 10 or 50 within 1 day or week and then disappear and not playing there for 16 years and generating for them 59800 commission Premium Charge..

    No problem kkkk.

First of, you need to contact the escalation team and ask for a "Deadlock Email" which is used to show the ADR service that you have given Betfair time to try and resolve it.

I would not ask any other questions or talk about anything else. If they refuse, point whoever you are speaking to to this page (https://www.betfair.com/aboutUs/Dispute.Resolution/) and say "I am following your dispute procedure and you are refusing to allow me access. Can you please explain why you are not following that published procedure for me?"

If they still refuse let me know and I can show you how to get a rocket put up them.

When they give you the deadlock email then you can submit a request for mediation by IBAS.

    1) Register an account here: https://www.ibas-uk.com/consumers/register-with-ibas/

    2) Submit a complaint here: https://www.ibas-uk.com/login?Return.../make-a-claim/

This is not a speedy process unfortunately. It will take months :\

There is another option if you outside UK via https://ecogra.org/forms/adr-dispute-step-1

After 4 complaints Betfair gave up and reactivated my account.

Finally the complaint was read by someone in the security department who has idea about money laundering or they couldn't refute my arguments.

I have heard probably 10 times this is our final decision and go contact ADR service.

As you wrote in the last reply , the reason i dont want to go over IBAS is that it could have taken 8-10 months ....

Pretty frustrating that you dont know who you contact or who reads the complaints, is he the right person, how to contact someone else and they have closed the email addresses, however it popped out you actually discuss it / contact them over the Complaints email

I hope it wont repeat again, so far ME 2 - 0 Betfair

    Very nice.

We have seen this result on the forum 5 or 6 times now. Show them you know the dispute procedure and suddenly it goes to someone who has to decide.
