bookmaker.eu asking for photos of my credit card and rejecting them

Finally signed up to bookmaker.eu after reading good reviews.

Made a deposit with my credit card, small amount. Was told to verify my card.

I sent the back side and the front side and they rejected the photos because I hid the middle numbers, they want photos of my credit card with all the numbers visible.

Is this for real? I am speechless.

It is standard. You're going to have to comply if you want to be able to withdraw money.

People use bitcoin with offshore books to avoid all problems and inconveniences associated with cards.

It's not standard, in the past every time a third party asked me for photos of my credit card, they required the middle numbers to be hidden, for obvious reasons. Here even the 3 figures code in the back has to be visible. This is incredible. I can't believe it.

It is standard. At Heritage you have to show the full front and the back as well. This is why you should never use a credit card.

I don't know Heriage but this is the standard procedure for any serious business https://blog.truelancer.com/credit-card-verification/

If I knew this beforehand I would have never used my card to deposit there, if I send the pictures any bookmaker.eu agent can now use my card to shop online, LMAO, this is unbelievable.

Yeah and anyone working for the CC processor can use the same info. I'd trust bookmaker over some shady 3rrd party processor, processing illegal CC transactions.

You've never used a credit card at Bookmaker or Heritage because they require the complete card. This is why I said never to use a card at a book because you go by their rules or you don't get paid. Cards are for suckers when there's crypto.

I made that mistake once years ago , after sending them the pics they wanted I just turned off the card on the card app. No big deal, leave it turned off, contact card company and ask them to send a new card with a different number. You don’t have any choice here if you want to get paid, gl

Well have a gambling card if your going that route so if hacked and proper alerts set up you catch it quick and get a new one and just use offshore

I'm not sure what this is trying to prove. It doesn't seem to be related to offshore sportsbooks at all. Their request is standard for the industry. Use bitcoin = no problems.

Bad policy by Bookmaker but there is a workaround. Go ahead and send them photos of the card. Then call your bank and tell them your card was compromised, lost or whatever. Your bank will immediately cancel the card and send you a new one.

edit. capitalist pig already had the same response.

    ^^^ Do this if concerned.

But really, Bookmaker has had this policy for many years and I do not think anyone thinks their card has been compromized there? Anyone seen someone say it has been ever?

Guy, you put the whole credit card number in when you deposited, correct? You already willingly gave them this information. Stop banging your head against the wall for nothing and send the pictures.

well, yeah, in this case it probably doesn't make much of a difference anymore indeed. The fact that they ask for it means that they have full details at hand to compare with anyway.

But this obviously still shouldn't be the case to begin with. There's no need at all for anyone at Bookmaker (let alone low-level support staff) to get to see full credit card data in plain text.
