Where are you seeing this? Their website doesn't mention it and I can't find any news about this online.

They mostly do horse racing which is a business that takes more in person bets than sports betting businesses, so its not that surprising.

Just three years after launching an online sports betting and casino business in New Jersey under its now-defunct BetAmerica brand, Churchill Downs Inc. CEO Bill Carstanjen said Thursday that the company is exiting the online sports and casino wagering space.

"We will exit the (business-to-consumer) online wagering space," Carstanjen told investors during a conference call. "This isn't the result we wanted, but it is the prudent next step."

Didn't 888 sports pull out of NJ too? or was it everywhere it pulled out of. Twinspires was kind of weak.

Yep, excluding Las Vegas books, the only two US sports books left standing will be DraftKings, and Fanduel,
FD and DK have been pointing toward this when FD launched in 2009, and DK in 2012.

Those two had pretty much a ten year head start on everybody else, everybody else is playing catch up, and never will

Yeah, it's not yours or mine grandpas game anymore when back in the day they would flock to the Big 'A' on a weekday and draw 24,000 to watch a card loaded with allowance races.

Today's racing is all elite now, what I mean is if the race isn't at least a Grade II stakes race, nobody but the hard core race fan is interested.

They just shut down the track and build more slots and hotels.

In NJ, I would estimate that Unibet will close as well. It's another kambi clone, bad lines, site doesn't work well.

DK,FD doing well. Caesars will stick around. Wynnbet. Barstool, but just for the name. Sugarhouse. Bet mgm.

There are many books that will eventually drop though. There are atleast 15 in NJ. It's too saturated. The books that will drop are the worse ones.

Here in Iowa they just announced a Purse increase at this horrible track Prairie Meadows which is awful as i said before I've lived here in Iowa since 04 and have been there 4 or five times at best this place stinks the apron is all concrete with just a few benches and tables.Inflation is thru the roof and the casino continues to support the races.IM Surprised no congressman as discussed taking away there welfare and giving the money elsewhere.

Twinspires today told me they got rid of their $1,000 risk-free play, and now it's measly $100. And in NJ wouldn't even let me play that $100 free play, because the ridiculous software they use said I either go to PA or Mich to wager it. They told me those two states are "universal" log-ins, but NJ is on it's own. They will go under.
Even Bet America is NJ was bad.

I like the ponies, but I don't have the time to handicap the little claiming races and maidens.
I love the prime time races though.

Online sports is a low margin business. Very costly to acquire players.

The move makes sense as our retail business is strong. Horse racing also very strong.

Goldy...you know you (WE) have a problem when you're betting Mechanical Horses at the D in Vegas. The old Fitzgeralds (on 2nd floor).

We started charting horses and running it thru Thorograph. Next time we get out there, we'll play the Mechanical Horses.

    Good Luck. Hope u hit.

They do have Sports Haven/Winners locations which helps them out a lot. I've been to Sports Haven a bunch of times and usually lots of guys at the kiosks.

Let’s be realistic here for a minute.
Almost everything in all major casinos will go away but slot machines. This dominates all their revenue and it’s not even fukin close…. They will shut down card rooms huge books where they can cram massive amounts of slot machines in. You will be left with a tiny window or kiosk. Slots are king.
