    William hill NJ

So I placed a fairly large bet for $40,000 and the William hill (new jersey) app crashed right after telling me that the bet was too large.

Long story short, I go back to my pending and they duplicated the bet for $80,000.

I go into the live chat and they tell me there’s nothing they can do? I have proof of going into the live chat immediately after the bet was placed.

The bet ultimately ended up losing and I lose double the amount I wanted to bet in the first place. If someone shows me how to upload a photo I can attach proof.

Wtf do I do here? Is this just a part of betting on apps and we assume the responsibility of an app crashing and doubling a bet? It’s insane.

Forgot to mention the same thing happened the day before for 10,000. And they submitted a ticket. So all together this week they’ve cost me 50,000 with wagers I NEVER placed myself and the app glitched and placed the bet twice. Both times I went into the live chat immediately after the bet was placed.

Told them what happened, and took screenshots of the chat.

    William Hill takes $40k wagers?

I learn something new every day.

That is terrible they just blow you off. They should be able to clearly see two bets made too close together to be humanly possible. Contact https://www.nj.gov/casinos/about/dir...20609-441-3422. And if they don't help send in an SBR Sports book Complaint form. This one should be fixable

When William Hill ran the sportsbook at Dover Delaware a few years ago, that size bet would have been rejected in person. I personally saw a guy try to bet $10k on a bowl game on Army and they REFUSED the bet. He had just cashed a bowl bet from the night before for $5K. William Hill and the State of Delaware parted ways about 6 months or so after that. It is run now by a sportsbook out of Rhode Island. But $40K. WOW!

A message popped up that said the bet was too large. Then I check my pending and it was in there twice. I don’t see how they don’t reimburse my funds. Telling me there’s nothing they can do is unacceptable. Can SBR help with this?

Not only should you be reimbursed, there should be some type of credit for your problems with THEIR MISTAKE! Keep us informed this is absurd what they did.

I’ll keep everyone informed. No idea how or why they chose to handle it this way. Going to go to the track and talk to them in person today rather than deal with the foreign customer service.

My Experience is that they have the worst CS out of all the legal Illinois books... The also do not have a desk top site like the bog boys do in Illinois plus have the least amount of markets. Other then that they pay fast and Ive been on a good run with them when I use

The part that was not mentioned is that they were not taking the original bet of 40k to start as they said it was too large. This means that it is highly unlikely that if he won he would have got anything.

Wm Hill is and always has been straight garbage.......................

I know it's a MAJOR hassle. But somehow someway, the state of NJ should AND CAN come after this book for their actions. Number one unless they have a max bet listed for a game somewhere deep in their rules they are in violation of something. (To me it seems a bit crazy to believe thsat any book would take a 40K bet online) That's beside the point. Let the state KNOW about this!

Follow the instructions here. Must make a formal complaint with WH then wait for their response before filing with regulators. GL. https://www.nj.gov/oag/ge/inquiriesp...omplaints.html

The State of Delaware had good reason to get rid of William Hill. I don't have any idea what it was, but it was a gold mine for the book.

    Just an update for everyone.

After 7 days of review, they’re claiming the bets were placed a minute apart

Even after numerous employees have admitted their software has duplicated live bets for a lot of customers recently.

I know what happened. I placed one bet and they duplicated it. That’s why I immediately went into the live chat.

So basically they’re just trying to rob me of $50,000. Going to just go to either consumer affairs or the NJ gaming commission.

This sounds like they did it on purpose. If it Won they cancel it saying it was too much .If it loses they take the entire thing and say too bad you made the bet.

Would love to know the reason that the state of Delaware ditched them in favor of the sportsbook in Rhode Island to run their sports betting operation. Then again I think the entire Casino operation is run by the R.Island company, not sure about that.

Aside from emailing the gaming commission (NJ) is there anything SBR or anyone else can do to help me?

It’s a pretty well known issue that customers have with William hill accidentally duplicating live bets.

It seems absolutely absurd for them to duplicate 50k by accident and assume no responsibility for it and just act like they can get away with it.

    What do I do here???

Did you just send an email to Gaming Enforcement or did you file a formal complaint? File the complaint if you haven't already.

Here is the link for the form. It didn't load on my PC but I was able to download it to my Android. I don't know if really makes a difference but I would send it in. Keep after them. It's disgusting that they take huge bets from some people while others can't bet more than $50. https://www.nj.gov/oag/ge/docs/Inter...isputeForm.pdf

Let us know what happens. If you're honest I think Wm Hill will be forced to pay or penalized HEAVILY by NJ. The publicity would not be good for this book that claims to have been in business for something like a huge number of years!

So my buddy told me William hill does this to mess with your head. I know it sounds crazy but I honestly believe him.

I’ve been using them for 3 years and this ONLY happens the one time I go on the hottest run of my life? They wiped out my entire account.

Literally logged into my account and the money was in there. Honestly they never even told me they were putting it in there. So I’m not sure it’s possible to update any further than I already did lol.

    I’m just very happy

Glad you got your money. I wonder if filing the complaint with the state of NJ helped their decision 🤔?

An issue like this offshore would have taken months
