Betfair refusing payout my winnings for nearly 3 years

    Hello,

I started betting with Betfair since 2017, before my account got suspended after my last bet in Aug 2018.
Betfair only return my initial deposit of around 10k, but refusing to payout my winnings around 20k euro.
They keep telling me my account is being reviewed, but they're not providing me any update during the past 3 years, and they also refuse to tell me what kind of review is being taken on my account.
I don't think there's anything that would raise their alert, I made a long list of bet during the year before my account is suspended, my winnings doesn't came from one single bet.

    Things I have tried -
    1. Complaint to MGA - they ask me to complaint to IBAS
    2. Complaint to IBAS - they told me Betfair says there's an external investigation and IBAS can do nothing about it
    3. Complaint to UKGC - no response
    4. Inquiry to IBIA - no response

It has been nearly 3 years since my account is suspended, and Betfair is refusing to provide me any information.
I don't believe there's really an investigation going on, even if there's indeed an investigation, I don't believe it will take so long, and they should provide me an update every 6 months.
I'm really frustrated now, because I have tried everything I could, but no one seems to be able to help.
I can't believe a A+ bookmaker would do this, and I'm extremely worried that this is just a strategy for Betfair to not to pay me out, and I will never see my money again.

Is there anyone has similar situation before? What did you do and what's your outcome?
Any advise will be appreciated, thank you!

At this point you should consider legal approach. If you know there's nothing wrong with you, sue their ass if you think it's worth the money

at that deposit amount I guess they asked for "source of income" or whatever bullshit is that... I'm surprised you managed to make that amount on their sportbook section and not get limited (if that's where the profit was made)

Can you explain what were your bets? What did you wager on?

Right now they're not asking anything from me, they just tell me my account is being reviewed and no further document is needed.
If they need anything from me I will sure send them right away.
The only documents they requested from me since the beginning are my ID and proof of address, it was an year ago.
I sent them all the documents right away, but it's all silence since then.
I really don't believe it will take Betfair over an year to look into 2 documents.

I bet on football and tennis, the last bet which I believe led to my account suspension is a tennis bet.
It was Federico Gaio vs Miljan Zekic in Padova Challenger 2018.
Federico Gaio won 2-0, but I really don't see there's anything suspicious in the match.
Both players played hard and it was a tough match.
I tried to contact IBIA to see if there's indeed an investigation ongoing on this match but I receive no reply.
Even if there's indeed an investigation, I don't believe it will take 3 years.

    Quick update -
After I reached out to UKGC again complaining about Betfair's action is violating their license regulation, this morning I contacted Betfair again and they told me my account has been verified.
However, my account is still suspended with no option to withdraw.
The advisor doesn't know what's the reason and she has sent an email to the team for more information.
I will update here if there's update from Betfair.

You won, that's the only issue Belfair has. We wouldn't be talking about the no pay issue if they were losing bets. Books never seem to investigate losing bets.....I wonder why.

Obviously there was never so called "investigation" at all...
That's why when I complained to UKGC, Betfair cannot provide any evidence to UKGC and decided to solve this with me to keep it under radar.
I will be happy if I get to be paid in the end, but no players should have to go through all these mess to get their well deserved winnings.
I could have done lots of stuff with my winnings during the past 3 years...

Crazy coincidence that you posted here after 3 years...and then just 2 weeks later they happen to reopen your account.

I'm sure it was frustrating, but it's good to hear that you've had some success. Hopefully they fix withdrawals for you soon.

Talk to a newspaper reporter. Once it's out there, they might pay then. Bad PR is no good for any business

A year or two ago the UKGC issued a statement saying that players had to be advised of the status every 6 months where a match fixing investigation is ongoing.

I can't find that via google right now but I am sure of it.

Maybe try contacting the Sports Betting Integrity Unit directly asking them how to confirm whats going on, and ask about the 6 month update thing?

Thanks for the advise, I have tried to reach out to IBIA but there's no response.
I will try SBIU if Betfair still refuse to pay me out.
They told me they will send me an update today but now there's still no news from them.

    Quick update -

Okay, so it's totally a joke.
As I didn't receive a reply from Betfair today, I reached out to their live chat again and they're now saying "my account is verified" is just a "misinformation". So my account is still suspended and they still refuse to provide me any information.
It's obviously a joke and my next step will be contacting SBIU as Optional has advised, and take legal action if there's still no result.
Ever since Star company took over Betfair it has became so bad, they should be downgraged.
I will update here if there's any update though I'm not in good faith.

Did you filed a complained here at Sportsbookreview on Betfair?

There are many stories here and over the web where they first close accounts and require "source of funds", and then don't pay out for months. This is not how a bookie rated "A" works. That's closer to "D".

I have filed a complaint on SBR but there's no agent reply back to me.

I have consulted with my solicitor and she has drafted a demand letter for me.
If Betfair still refuse to payout we're taking it to court.

If it goes to the court, is there any change to make this case public? For example, ask Sportsbookreview or any other gambling related site post it somewhere in a public place?
