6.2 Fraudulent Activity. If, in our reasonable discretion, we determine that a player has engaged in fraudulent, unlawful, dishonest or improper activity (including, without limitation, the usage of a VPN, proxy or similar service that masks or manipulates the identification of your real location, or by otherwise providing false or misleading information, or by making bets, wagers or poker play through a third party or on behalf of a third party)...
I'm a little confused, where is this quote coming from? Are they saying that the reason they're confiscating my money is they believe I used a VPN service? Was this posted some where or is it an assumption of one of the posters? I'm in the dark here.

Also, any suggestions where else I can go to bring attention to the situation and maybe find someone who can help?

    Thanks

I'm never going to Bovada, if they can't show evidence of what was done to warrant this or give any details to backup their action of taking $25k in winnings from the OP then screw them.

The first $6500 that was Lost was "OK" with multiple accounts PAY DA MAN

I guess they should return a $6500 Loss when they "IMMEDIATELY" discovered there was an issue...

The "issue" was discovered AFTER the guy won $33k...

If he lost would there have been this "SECURITY ISSUE"???????

    PAY DA MAN !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    Is that your argument here???

And why you are three posts deep attacking SBR?!

    YFI
What terms of service were broken? If they can be articulated, I will change my position.
Let me see if I understand everything.

-Bovada had no problem taking these bets.
-When it came time to payout, they refused. Which is stealing customers money.
-Bovada and SBR say it is not stealing, because terms of service were violated.
-Neither of them are willing to provide a single detail about what terms of service were violated. When asked about what terms of service were violated, they remain silent.
-Which means Bovada is making it clear that they do not have to payout winning bets at any time for any reason, simply by claiming terms of service were violated. Which is stealing the customers money.
-SBR believes a sportsbook can steal money like that and still keep their A+ rating.
-That should tell us a lot about what the reviews at a place called sportsbookreview.com actually mean.

If I am missing something, someone please let me know so that I can have all of the information and I will change my views.

You hit it on the head. I can't imagine what the actual conversations were like between SBR and Bovada. I've personally had an open case against Bovada and didn't even get this explanation nor did I receive my deposits back. My situation is completely different then this as well and I'm positive I didn't break any of their rules and that's the ONLY reason they can't give an explanation because there is nothing to explain. No B.S. about security or none of that shenanigans. They straight up robbed me as well as this player and SBR is fully aware and will not respond.

I don't think Bovada performs a Know Your Customer review until someone requests a payout which probably saves books a lot of time since most players don't win anyway. Everyone should do at least a small withdrawal before their balance gets too big. This seems like the typical MO of scammers... Deposit large amount... immediately start making huge wagers on parlays... complain when they don't get paid.

This guy fits the MO perfectly and is likely a scammer as the other folks who did similar things and complained about being paid.

DeeDee can you put some dates on your original post so we can tell when you signed up on Bovada and the dates you lost the large amount and won the large amount. Since you are wagering such large amounts... I assume this isn't your first rodeo, where else do you have (or had) betting accounts. When were they opened, are they still open and in good standing??

If this is true, they should not be so vague about the details. If they lack the capacity to describe what happened and why it justifies not paying out winning bets, then it is theft.

Tommy.... what usually happens is that the money is obtain through stolen means. ************ ect.. and they make risky bets before the chargebacks etc. leaving the book holding the bag. Why do they owe the scammers an explanation LOL.. Normal betters do not deposit huge amounts and start immediately making 9K parlays... Bovada should tell him to kick rocks.

DeeDee what do you do for a living my friend

If there is evidence that this sort of thing was going on, then Bovada should be able to explain themselves and their decision by citing the terms of service violated. So far they have been completely incapable of doing that.

Any sportsbook that allows what you describe to be a 'usual happening' is most likely a shit book.

You are deluding yourself if you do not believe that every book has to deal with scammers and these sorts of issues. By your definition every book on earth would be a shyt book.. there are always going to be those that are trying to take advantage.

The Bovada message OP posted implies that they believe he has opened multiple accounts - they asked him to "refrain from opening any another accounts" (plural).
Did the player get a bonus with multiple accounts? If yes, why not come out and say it? The player didn't say he took a bonus though, so if it's fraudulent, it's certainly original.

The books I play at payout when they take a bet, even if the money used to make the best was stolen. The only possible exception would be if law enforcement got involved. I am sure every place has dealt with people trying to scam them. You described it as "usually happening". At most places, scam attempts are not usual happenings. It says a lot about Bovada if that is the usual customer that deposits with them.

I never took a bonus. If that were the case they would have mentioned it by now. I see that Tarnski's case is now closed with little to no explanation. Looks like this is the new normal.

This is one of the more absurd comments I've read on here. If Bovada (or any book) thinks that anyone who deposits 5K to 10K is a scammer why take deposits that big? Why take 2K parlays from new players? If Bovada thought the money was "obtained though stolen means" (whatever that means) why not send it right back?
