I’ve never had this issue happen with Pinnacle until today. I bet on an Australian CS:GO match, Genuine vs Rooster, and won the bet. Afterwards, it turns out Pinnacle has voided the bet for “suspicious betting activity”.
Has this ever happened to anyone? This is the first time it’s happened to me and I can’t help but feel cheated that it was when I was suppose to win the bet. What does “suspicious betting activity” even mean? Couldn’t you use that excuse for literally any event?
It seems silly that they alone declare matches as being fixed without further investigation. What if the game wasn’t fixed to begin with? What if it’s just people seeing value and betting accordingly?
The problem with the eSports market is that the liquidity is so low for some of the matches that a single person with a few hundred dollars could move the line if they wanted to. With how off Pinnacle can be on their eSports odds sometimes, this actually happens very often. I've even done it myself before. Are you telling me all it takes is a few hundred bucks for a match to be deemed as suspicious?
In my opinion, this was a legitimate match that took place, and I was just one of the bettors that took advantage of some very good perceived value. Instead of taking the loss for setting a bad line, Pinnacle has voided the bet to save themselves a couple of bucks.
I am aware that many of you aren't familiar with eSports or CS:GO, so please do some research before reaching any conclusions. In my opinion:

This was a very expected result. Looking at past results you'll quickly find out that Rooster has been blown out in almost every single of their matches this season. The only win they have is against an even worse team, Fanta, that has also been blown out in all of their matches. The issue with the ESEA MDL Australian league has always been the massive skill disparity between the teams in the league. When you consider that to get into MDL, you just have to be one of the top teams of the Open league in Australia (which all teams start out in) it is no wonder that this always happens. For people like me who understand this, it is an easy way to find value when bookies set bad lines. For comparison, in order to get into the North America ESEA MDL league, you have to reach the top of four other divisions.

When you also consider the fact that the Rooster team replaced one of their players halfway through the season:

Is it really that "suspicious" that the odds moved from 1.23 to 1.09?

Is it really that hard to imagine that somebody (or multiple people) found some value and placed a few hundred bucks and moved the line accordingly?
I'm sorry if you guys don't understand this. It just seems like I did some adequate research and got burnt.
