    72 hour Rule on Pinnacle

Last week I had placed a bet on Pinnacle, and as I knew there could be some confusion about the result (the initial winner - who I had layed - was disqualified right away, before the podium presentation) I immediately checked my bets on Pinnacle, and saw them graded correctly with the amended result.

Now I noticed that a day later they changed the grading of the bet though. So my bet is (incorrectly) graded as lost now, and my complaint about it was refused by the support, referring to the rule "All results posted shall be final after 72 hours and no queries will be entertained after that period of time. Within 72 hours after results are posted, the company will only reset/correct results due to human error, system error or mistakes made by the referring results source".

Checking the results on pinnacle.com you can even see that they have two winners for that stage now, which is obviously bullsh*t:

so I guess intially they graded it correctly with Gaviria as the winner, then someone sent in a "let's just give it a try" complaint showing a screenshot with Viviani celebrating on the line, and for whatever reason they changed it. And as 72 hours have passed now, it's final

Do you guys think they are right to still apply the 72 hours rule in a case like this, or is there a chance to still get this sorted out somehow?

I don't think any sort of 72 hour rule applies there, as long as you have the legitimate winner of the stage as your bet. The rule you quote excludes errors, and if what you say is correct, its an error.

I'd keep trying, and ask for CS to escalate it to a manager for review. And send that results report too.

You are welcome to send a sportsbook complaint form to SBR and we can ask a manager to check what has happened if needed too.

the rules says "Within 72 hours after results are posted, the company will only reset/correct results due to human error" though, so actually I do think it does exclude errors to be amended afterwards. But I will give it another try to have it forwarded to a manager first, thanks.

    Pinnacle are not unreasonable.

If they got it wrong, then they will fix it 72 hours or not.

They say "will only reset/correct results due to human error, system error or mistakes made by the referring results source"... not just for human error btw. IE: pretty much any sort of error. But they won't entertain claims for results that are changed more than 72 hours later for example.

just a little (non-)update: on my request, Pinnacle's CS forwarded the case to the management ~4 weeks ago - but I never heard back from them.

Hopefully SBR can be of help, but so far I haven't received a reply on my complaint

Please reply to the confirmation email. Let them know Pinny said Management would look at it 4 weeks ago, and ask if we can follow up for you.

I never heard back from anyone, but this has now been corrected - so I guess someone got involved. Thanks.

I'm glad you got paid on the correct result. The purpose of 72 hour, (or similar), rules is to set a time as a final result time which equates to a weigh-in in horse racing. If someone is disqualified after the weigh-in the result at the weigh-in result still counts for betting purposes. Weigh-in or final result times don't apply to settlement errors. A settlement error should be fought...and corrected... even if it takes weeks.

Generally i'm not a fan of having an artificial time limit set as the weigh-in as it can become a grey area rather than a set-in-stone limit. IE do they mean 72 hours after crossing the line, the podium ceremony, the result being posted on-line, or some other point. It's difficult to pin down exactly when the 72 hours is up. (Not a factor in this case).
