    Indiana Gambling

Indiana Senate Bill 552 just made it out of the Ways and Means Committe in the House yesterday with amendments and nows goes to the House Floor tomorrow. The bill has already passed the Indiana Senate without the House amendments.

House amendments include: No mobile betting. Bets have to be placed in the Indiana Casinos. Moved back start date from July 1st this year to September 1st to allow sports wagering. Reduced license fee for operators of the sportsbooks from 100K to 10K and require 3% of the revenue go to Gambling addiction programs.

If the House votes to pass this bill then it goes back to the Senate with the changes for their acceptance. All this has to be done by the end of April as it is a state law that the Indiana Legislative session can't go beyond April 29th.

Two Gary, Indiana casino location changes and a new casino in Terre Haute are also part of this legislation so outcome is unclear. I thought those in Indiana or nearby might like an update. I hope they get this done and maybe I won't have to drive as far to get football wagers in this Fall.

Good luck Indiana, took forever for us to get it in Jersey but once it started it has been blowing beyond all belief. They will eventually cave to mobile apps when they see the extra revenue they can make.

JJ if you cross the bridge into NJ, go with the playMGM app, closest thing you will get to offshore/bookmaker as far as betting options.

I went to Atlantic City a month or two ago

Had $1500 in a pinnacle agent

    Had $1500 cash on me

Visited william hill (oceans), Caesars book, and Resorts book.

100% of bets made that weekend, pinnacle agent had the best line available. Kind of ruined it for me. Figured "oh this will be fun, can shop around for best line, mix online and in person wagers" Nah.

Nobody will go to the Gary casinos once gambling is legalized in Illinois, Chicago is 30 minutes away and Gary has been a shit hole for a while.

See Wisconsin, it CAN be done! Not sure why it hasn't really been discussed. We now got a Dem Gov who plans on spending like fiend. He's exploring legalized pot - so why not sports betting... Clueless! I'm sure the tribal casinos could be swayed to jump in.

I think that OTB locations might be acceptable places to place sports wagering bets. The amendment just says no mobile betting and the sports wagers have to be placed at a physical location. OTB would qualify to accept sports wagers I assume but I don't know.

After the Conference Committee the House and Senate sports wagering bill (Now Indiana House Bill 1015) mobile wagering was put back in. We will know tomorrow (Wednesday) if Indiana is the next state approving Sports betting. House and Senate must each pass the bill and then it heads to the Governor's desk for signature. If it passes we will have sports wagering by September 1st. Looks promising and great news on the mobile part as well.

As the bill stands now we will be able to wager on sports on our phone anywhere in the state if it gets passed tomorrow. Mobile wagering was taken out but after the Conference Committee got done with it they put mobile wagering back in the legislation. Best news yet.

I met 3 fellas here who are betting with mybookie. They are novice gamblers. All 3 said they'd gladly wager online instate over offshore. They can care less about vig or perks. Small sample but real people with their thoughts. I don't say anything about my experience. It's voodoo in my current environment and i dont want any questions or concerns to arise.

Indiana just passed House Bill 1015 in the Senate by a vote of 37-12 and in the House by a vote of 59-36. Pending the Governors signature we have sports betting in Indiana that includes mobile betting that can begin as early as July 1st by law this year but probably closer to September 1st and the beginning of football season. Yippee!
