After playing and paying rake and fees 5dimes stole 53k from me for no reason.

I signed up on 5Dimes 3 years ago, after a poker friend said he plays there and it was an "ok" site. I did a little research and saw they had high ratings as a sportsbook. Also I was not too concerned as I was playing recreationally.

I was told by customer service that I could play the weekly poker freeroll and was good to go. I took 3rd? in the first one I played. I used those winnings to play real money tables sporadically over the next three years building up my bankroll to about 800 dollar. I probably paid a couple thousand in rake over that period. Last Friday I was playing a NL25 badbeat jackpot table, and the unthinkable happened. My quad eights were rivered by a straight flush. I was in shock as I am a working stiff and this is more money than I make in a year. After the win all I thought about was paying off ************ and paying down a good chunk of our mortgage.



For 5 days there was no issue. And then I got home from working overtime on New Years Day to find the funds confiscated. They tried to say that it was because I did not deposit. I specifically asked about this when signing up and carefully read the terms of service. They did not argue that I could not play free rolls, but switched to line in the TOS that I could not take advantage of the site. I did not even play many freerolls after that because it is after my bedtime, and I had built a bankroll on cash tables.

Do not play this site because I have now dug deeper and am finding out that they like to confiscate funds when someone wins a lot of money. I have paid at least a few thousand in rake and played only a handful of freerolls.

Let me state that I have never done anything against the terms of service, nor have they said I have. (besides taking advantage of them by playing a free roll they told me I could play!) They let me continue to play for three years.

Read some of your stuff from CS on the other forum. Sound like 5Dimes took advantage af you. Probably rigged it so they don’t have to pay out the Bad Beat and can keep it for themselves.

Sure there will be some small text in the rules about your account that will screw you.

Sorry to hear, straight theft of $50k cut and dry no ambiguity to it... people have already posted way back machine photos of 5d's rules page, and the TOS which they claim you are breaking were added 2 years after you won your free roll $. I would file a complaint with SBR but don't hold your breathe the likelihood they will do anything is slightly above 0%. Sadly SBR has no ethical standards and will not upset any book who pay them $.

I wonder with Tony “dead” if 5dimes makes this right with help of SBR. People bad mouth SBR which is dumb. Without SBR the poster has 0% chance of getting any money. Wit SBR I think his chances are north of 85% if everything he says is true

I play poker on many sites. If it allowed you to register then it's on them not your fault. No site I play at will let you register for MTT you are not eligible for. On top of that the bad beat jackpots are really not theirs to keep as it is part of rake that is designated to be paid out. PAY THE MAN HIS MONEY!

The BB jackpot is made by a separate rake that feeds that pool. He’s paying part of that rake each hand, so I would say that’s contributing.

I made a big mistake and have issued correction with a request to delete my comment. Thank you to everyone who has showed concern with the injustice 5dimes has done.

to answer a few questions. The badbeat was for over 53k. The total amount confiscated was over 54k.
Although I don't have the numbers, I must of paid thousands in rake to the poker room.
They actually added the new rule after they confiscated my funds. which was 6 days after winning the BBJ.
The have NOT put the money back into the BBJ. Which does not surprise me because from the start this was a money grab and not an attempt to do the right thing for all players on the site.
Again I am sorry to all of sportsbookreview for my incorrect assertion the post was deleted. I didn't see it, and when I googled it and clicked on link, it said the page did not exist.

I’m not as high on 5Dimes as many on here are, but this sounds a bit suspicious to me. And the fact that you are petty enough to go to another forum to bad mouth another doesn’t speak real highly of your character.

I'll be interested how this ends. Normally SBR is amazing at getting 5Dimes to see their clear errors and rectify them. A 54k error might be harder to persuade them about. I'd bet on 5Dimes inventing some ridiculous compromise where they offer 5k and say they are going above and beyond in doing so. Sadly, OP will take it, too, probably.

Even without this issue 5Dimes is not even close to an A book, let alone A+. Taking multiple days for Bitcoin withdrawals should on its own stop any book getting A+ rating.
