So who is betting legally in NJ?

Which books do you like / dislike?

I'vebeen mainly with draft kings since they were the first on line
the logging out and checking locations gets frustrating

I mean, bitcoin/crypto allows you to get cash same day and there are no checks or money orders. I've had legal books give me more trouble than offshore. Income verification, proof of address, social security number. Bigger headache for worse lines. Offshore still better.

DraftKings, FanDuel, and Betstars didn’t ask for documents on payouts
    Ceasars documents
    All have great bonuses.
Sugarhouse had trouble depositing so never played there. That was months ago.

WILLIAM HILL my Worst Experience Free Rolled ME
Didn’t honor there promo, had to pull teeth to get just a free 100 and then i make a live bet on Raiders Steelers. My bet was on Raiders +5.5. It doesn’t accept or deny my wager for over 5 min. I think there’s something wrong on my end, so during this time I log out and log back in and it’s still waiting to accept or decline my bet. Needless to say after Raiders scored a TD and the Steelers punted my bet wasn’t accepted. So I call and there response was, Yes we know about it we ve been having that problem a lot today. We’re trying to fix it. I asked them how they would compensate me and how can anyone live bet if this is happening all day. There response was sorry nothing we can do about it. After that shot they took at me done with William Hill forever. And when you do cash out want documents and limited payout options.

If you bet online only, legal US betting is going to mean a lot more personal info and documents than offshore bettors have been used to. At every book.

False. Dont even remember if I had to send my ID for a withdrawal from NJ book (pretty sure not). Certainly nothing else was asked for. So it's not a lot more documents than offshore.

Most NJ books ask for ID to cashout from online betting account. Some also ask for voided check or bank statement. Betting in person at Fanduel Meadowlands they require ID or your player card for $2000+.

Major problem with Will Hill is that every bet is subject to approval. Not just live betting but any bet over a certain amount. I wouldn't trust them with a live bet. Warning to anyone who plays there, never place a large subject to approval bet a few minutes before game time. Your bet could still be in their approval queue after the game starts. You won't know if you have action or if the bet timed out or they rejected it.

If you want to start trolling me Bubba, at least pick something you have some knowledge about

USA is still party to international agreements about money laundering and terrorism prevention.

If you bet online only, they will all be legally forced to KYC you in the same way as other legal jurisdiction books are forced to.

So you are saying I am lying? That both New Jersey sports books I withdraw from asked for documentation????

I am 99% sure neither asked for my id but maybe they had it on file. I am 100% sure that none asked for anything more than that. So your statement that "a lot more documents"are needed than offshore is either grossly misinformed or an outright lie. I assume just misinformed.

Your statement that more personal info is needed may be truthful. I dont remember when signing up if they asked for my social. They may have. So maybe that parts true. But more documents than offshore? As of last week, its flat out false.

    It's different over the counter.

If you want to just bet online eventually you will find people are asked for surprising amounts of personal info. Like where their money comes from.

America may not end up as bad as the UK in the end. But the normal KYC rules in other mature legal markets are kind of horrible compared to offshore.

3rd new jersey book did ask for documents from me for a withdrawl. 2 asked for none, 1 asked for 2 items. I think it may actually be the method chosen that reflects it, not the actual sportsbook.

NJ apps ask for social to sign up, no exception. If not all, many not only verify it, but do credit check + run against casino databases & full criminal check...this all only takes a few seconds while the globe is circling during signup.
Additionally, self-service kiosk & teller cameras are DHS facial recognition standard, to prevent structuring for NOT ONLY tax / AML reasons, but VERY IMPORTANT- subverting BETTING MAXIMUMS.
As an aside, Betfair NJ Xchange requires not only ID but as well NJ residency proof such as a utility bill.

These bet takers are investing too much money for too little return. They want to minimize risk to their license, plus betting losses.

If they can verify you electronically from sources like aquavello mentioned, you normally won't be asked for much.

In UK and Australia if you are enrolled on the electoral roll at the same address you give and use a C card, they don't have to ask you for any further ID.

But if I start betting large amounts, they are supposed to ask me how i can afford it. Books have been given $MIL+ size fines quite a few times for not doing this to people who were either embezzling money to bet or laundering criminal funds or just had a bad betting problem and lost the family home for example.
