I mean, bitcoin/crypto allows you to get cash same day and there are no checks or money orders. I've had legal books give me more trouble than offshore. Income verification, proof of address, social security number. Bigger headache for worse lines. Offshore still better.

False. Dont even remember if I had to send my ID for a withdrawal from NJ book (pretty sure not). Certainly nothing else was asked for. So it's not a lot more documents than offshore.

Major problem with Will Hill is that every bet is subject to approval. Not just live betting but any bet over a certain amount. I wouldn't trust them with a live bet. Warning to anyone who plays there, never place a large subject to approval bet a few minutes before game time. Your bet could still be in their approval queue after the game starts. You won't know if you have action or if the bet timed out or they rejected it.

I am 99% sure neither asked for my id but maybe they had it on file. I am 100% sure that none asked for anything more than that. So your statement that "a lot more documents"are needed than offshore is either grossly misinformed or an outright lie. I assume just misinformed.

It's different over the counter.

If you want to just bet online eventually you will find people are asked for surprising amounts of personal info. Like where their money comes from.

America may not end up as bad as the UK in the end. But the normal KYC rules in other mature legal markets are kind of horrible compared to offshore.

If they can verify you electronically from sources like aquavello mentioned, you normally won't be asked for much.

In UK and Australia if you are enrolled on the electoral roll at the same address you give and use a C card, they don't have to ask you for any further ID.

But if I start betting large amounts, they are supposed to ask me how i can afford it. Books have been given $MIL+ size fines quite a few times for not doing this to people who were either embezzling money to bet or laundering criminal funds or just had a bad betting problem and lost the family home for example.
