Resorts Atlantic City and Draft Kings announce deal, mobile and internet platforms

    Interesting press release.

The mention mobile app betting, mobile platform wagering.

Everything a guy like JJGOLD said was not going to happen.

BOSTON, Mass. (June 1, 2018) – DraftKings Inc. and Resorts Casino Hotel announced today that DraftKings has chosen Resorts Casino Hotel to be its New Jersey licensing partner, satisfying an expected regulatory requirement for DraftKings to offer an online sports betting product in the state.
“We are excited to work with Resorts Hotel Casino to bring our new DraftKings sportsbook to New Jersey,” said Jason Robins, CEO and Co-Founder of DraftKings. “As a tech savvy and a long-term growth oriented organization, Resorts Hotel Casino aligns perfectly with our customer-focused, innovation culture.”
DraftKings has been preparing for several months to quickly enter the New Jersey market and begin offering sports fans a unique and innovative sports betting product, leveraging its industry-leading technology and over 10 million customers.
“We are at a pivotal moment in the development of sports betting in the U.S.,” said Morris Bailey, owner of Resorts Casino Hotel. “We are delighted to be able to have DraftKings utilize our gaming license in New Jersey. DraftKings continues to be at the forefront of sports entertainment innovation, and today’s announcement is the first step in being able to offer customers in New Jersey the most dynamic sports betting platform.”
Pending the adoption of state laws authorizing sports wagering, DraftKings plans to leverage its experience in developing popular daily fantasy sports contests to launch a sports betting app along with a web-based platform.

I look through this site and count endless amount of players complaining about offshore books not paying or evening process there withdraws. It’s so bad. Off shore !

    Very interesting post.

Some concerns (for a lot of players) were:

    1) Thinking there might be .30 or .40 cent lines only

    2) Thinking remote betting wouldn't be an option.

IMO, those 2 points are not a done deal yet, but that article generates optimism.

Still probably a year away for my state.

Why does not one Las Vegas place have a web-based platform???

I think it is a security nightmare that is why

I was told specifically that the PlayMGM app could not be used in New Jersey yet and haven't heard of any change on that front , that article is probably eluding to a change of ruling down the road.

If states have web-based casino gaming, why can't they do it with sports wagering?

Before New Jersey's case was heard before the Supreme Court, not many thought this day would be coming.

Many guaranteed it would never happen.
Things change fast. Web based applications will be here before you know it.

Vegas it does not make sense but they are so behind the times with low paid workers maybe that is why

It would actually be cheaper to use web based. If you live here in Vegas and have several apps you will notice that most look the exact same , that is because there apps are outsources to Miomni they are the company behind 90 percent of apps in Las Vegas.

App based is easier to ensure the location isn't being spoofed or just routed through a local device from elsewhere.

What cracks me up about this situation is that every major sports league and some of the biggest ownership groups are heavily invested in Draft Kings. So these SOB's wanted to tax gaming revenue for an "integrity" fee but they also own the bookie. The hypocrisy is laughable. And didn't they want to keep sports gambling illegal??? Oh ok.
