    Hi!
If a sportsbook welcomes players from Italy it will not block the access to its website from Italian IPs. And if a sportsbook blocks the Italian IPs it probably will not allow you to play there. You can change your IP to another country using the VPN connection, but some sportsbooks do not approve that and may consider this activity as a Terms violation.

It sounds like he means his Italian ISP blocks the website by govt order.

Does adding the direct IP link in hosts file really overcome this??

    Anyone?

    Sounds a bit too easy...

All Russian ISPs block all foreign sportsbooks' websites by govt order. But we can play there due to the VPN connections or using the direct IP links that some sportsbooks provide us with. Yes, it is easy to overcome this if the sportsbook is interested a player to be its customer.

VPN's can solve your problem. Just make sure you get one that doesn't keep logs and allows for anonymous payment (bitcoin, gift cards, whatever).

Using a decent VPN you can choose which country you appear to be in. Here's some great research (I personally use PIA and Nord and prefer PIA, but if you want a zillion European options, Nord allows you to connect through basically any country in Europe): https://torrentfreak.com/vpn-service...w-2017-170304/

@OP: You should ask the respective sportsbook.

In your place I would not run the risk of an account closure because of using a VPN which might be a violation of their terms.

Maybe the sportsbook can give you a mirror URL which is accessible from your location.

Many books now like bet365 can detect VPN's IP and cannot get in

If books really want to eliminate VPN use it is simple..make user use geolocation software and it is all over

Nothing in world can get around that unless physical computer in allowed Country that is always on and you use remote software which nobody going to do
