Hey, I wanted to give you all an update on the disappearing Super Bowl bet.

My account rep at Bet Phoenix, Emmet, tracked down the ticket # after looking all afternoon and evening. It was there, somewhere in the system, but I couldn't find it at the new or old site on my side. Emmet took this to the sales manager and he agreed to re-institute the bet.

Frankly, it was kick-ass customer service on Emmet's part and obviously I am thrilled with the result. I am glad I took the sane, rational and patient approach with Bet Phoenix on this.

btw, Dark Horse, the sales manager agreed that it would be good business for me to take screenshots of all my bets and keep track of my ticket #s in the future.

glad it has been straightened out-----can't wait til tomorrow to hear of the newest problem over at bp. they do seem to straighten out most problems. but the sheer volume of problems is unbelieveable.

Why do guys bring this type of stuff here before trying to resolve with books?

I was trying to resolve it with Bet Phoenix -- all day in fact. it didn't seem to have any resolution -- except that I would be out $100. Emmet came through when he found the missing ticket #. I didn't expect he would. font.f1 {font: 12.0px Helveticaa

some books software shoots an email to you account after every bet is placed. VIP sports and NINE.COM has that option.

I agree that it should not be happening at all with these so-called reputable books, but this would be my last resort

This is anything but "resolved"....until there is a valid explanation from Bet Phoenix why it happened. I am highly suspicious of Bet Phoenix because the same thing happened to me about six months ago. A bet was accepted, showed in my pending wagers, and then magically disappeared. I did not have the opportunity to contact them until two days later, but was told that it was a "bad line," and so the wager was deleted. Keep in mind it was not in my history as voided, but rather just removed as if it had never happened. And I was not notified in any way.

The line was certainly not bad, as it was for a tennis match that was nowhere near started, and their line was within range of those at The Greek and Matchbook. I.e., the correct player was favored and there was not even an arb available -- BP just happened to have the best price of the three, so I bet it. (The bet won).

They tried to offer a bonus to placate me -- but I refused to budge until they paid me. All told, it took about four days of back and forth to get them to pay the bet in full. I still do not know if they deleted the bet before or after the result was known. The bet was placed about two hours before start, and I did not log in to my account from the time of bet until about 48 hours later.

Bottom line: Bet Phoenix has historically and apparently will continue to ERASE bets from a player's history as they see fit -- with no notification sent to the player. I know of no other even semi-reputable operation that would do this.

I have been an avid supporter of BetPhoenix, and their sister sites like BetMania, Sports-1 and WagerChief, and I believe there is a bit of a smear campaign directed at BetPhoenix; however, with that said, they all can't be sham postings...... there has to be some validity to some of the claims, like this one. Combine that with their downtime server/IT issues, and I cannot place their books in my rotation right now, regardless of bonus offers and such.

As they said in A Bronx Tale, there is nothing worse than wasted potential.

Was this a 100 cash wager or the 100 Super Bowl promo wager? Just wondering because the promo wager was not allowed to be placed until after Feb 1 so maybe thats where the problem happened. Maybe a dumbass clerk thought it was a promo wager and deleted it not knowing that it was a legit early bet. Call Richard and he can help you with this.

I had a $700 winning wager mysteriously disappear, which has never happened to me in 10 years of betting at 10 different sportsbooks. After making inquiries with BP, where they told me no such bet was ever accepted, and then posting here on SBR to see if anyone had a similar experience, I became convinced it may have been my own mistake, so I dropped it. It was simply hard for me to believe that such a thing could happen, no matter how sure I felt.

Now I am sure they stole $700 from me.

Let me just make 100% sure I understand what you are saying...

You placed a bet for $100 which you saw as pending for days, which suddenly disappeared? Was the $100 back in your account as available, with no pending bet? Or was the $100 completely gone?

They initially told you on customer chat that they had no record of such a bet being placed? After you made a complaint, they looked through the system and actually FOUND the bet???

Thanks for posting here and alerting the community. This is the sort of major error that the players need to know about. In fact, the thread of this title should be changed to be more descriptive of what happened IMO.

It has certainly revived my interest in my own case. I no longer assume I was imagining things, seeing a $735 to win $700 bet on Coll of Charleston +3 pending in my account a few hours before Coll of Charleston beat Samford 78-67 on 1/14/09.

I saw the $735 as back in my available balance though when I checked the next day. What was missing was the $700 in winnings, and any record of the bet as ever having been accepted.

For anyone interested, here is the thread I started on the 15th...

I had a similar experience with a boxing wager however I know why it was deleted. I saw a bad line and bet it to see if it would fly. They did exactly as many of you here have experienced. They just deleted it with the wager amount replaced back into my available balance account. They do not show any history of the wager being placed on our side however the clerk was able to see the history of the wager somehow and confirmed that it was a bad line. I never received any email or anything but was pretty sure that I knew why it was removed as it was a bad line and was not very surprised. They really should send out an email informing players as well as show the cancelled bet in our history.

That's very accurate and you should be a politician with how misleading you can be with two facts... Yes I do show love for the best book on earFFF Sportsbook.com and yes I do show anger towards everyONE else which is posters NOT books so what's your point.?

If you have read my posts then you know I have shown love for other books too... Matchbook and Tony's to name two... I won't even call it by it's books name it's special enough to be called Tony's... If I show anger towards other posters where a book is involved like BetPhoneix I don't show anger towards the book just some doubt... I do show anger towards the posters because they carry a double standard as I pointed out MANY TIMES!!!

I'm not trying to start an argument here, but YOU SERIOUSLY BELIEVE SB.COM IS BEST BOOK IN THE WORLD?????? I've used them prior to current legislation and they did have good options, and fast payouts. But even then, they graded wagers extremely slow and customer service was poor if you needed a question answered. I wonder what features make this book #1 in your opinion, because I must me missing something.

The sales manager called me today. He was familiar with dmtrader's case. He said 5 bets had been lost in total, and that they now knew how it happened, and that it only happened over a 15 minute time frame. He said the problem is fixed.

Unfortunately for me, he told me that he looked for my bet the same way he found dmtrader's, but that it was not in the system. He said he would have liked to find it and clear this up, but given he sees no bet, he can not do anything for me.

I don't know what to think. I don't think I will file any complaint though. What I wanted for them to do was look for my bet the same way they looked for dmtrader's, and he says they did that.

I can't be 100% sure my bet was accepted (more like 99%) because I did not write the confirmation number or take a screen shot. I carefully placed the bet (along with 3 others), logged out and then didn't log in until the next day. In dmtrader's case, he had seen the bet as pending for several days, so it was easier for him to be 100% sure.

Anyway, I guess I will just move on. I will take screen shots from now on.
