Are the bookies besides pinnacle really this bad?

I made the mistake today of depositing on shitty Ladbrokes after they offered me a bonus through an email (I made an account a long time ago and only deposited to bet on races here and there - I am actually down around 5k~ lifetime on the site and have never withdrawn.) . I deposit my 400 and get my bonus and proceed to the market I usually bet on pinni. Low and behold they don't even accept bonus bets on the market I want. I was like OK and just started betting random crap for fun and clear two bets. I won roughly 200 then the next bet I made got limited to around 10 dollars. I call up and get the usual bs. I then place a large multi since multis seem to work fine and clear that for a few hundred. I'm up 600 and now the real stupid shit starts. The bookie has removed the option for me to even place parlays now and limited all my action to $10.

I call up and they tell me the usual bs and the call ends with nothing. I then tried to withdraw and apparently I can't even withdraw until their banks clear the deposit (which was through poli...not even a penetrating credit card). So now i'm thinking I will just penetrate around with the money since it's only 400 and tried to place a few WNBA bets. I'm apparently limited on every penetrating market now. So now i'm sitting here with a $400 bonus and money I can't withdraw or bet.

Surely bookies can't have it this penetrating easy?

You were probably valuebetting or arbitrage betting inadvertly. Bookies don't often limit players just for winning a few bets...they only do that if the odds of those bets drop consistently after you place your bets.

They definitely aren't all that bad. I have a few local bookies that I'm up a lot and they still take my action.

How long did they say to confirm the Poli deposit?

Never heard of that one before. Thought the whole idea was the system confirmed you had paid instantly.

Yes they are that bad mate. Welcome to reality. Ladbroke in Australia is a joke. I call it Ladjokes. They deactivated my original account just after 1 bet. Just after 1 bet and even that bet was not settled and they deactivated my account.

If someone tell you that they are up on any corporate bookmaker in Australia like Ladbroke, Ubet, Tab, Bet365, Sportsbet; just give them a smile and change the topic. Just like everyone likes to think they are up in casino, similarly people love to think that they are up on corporate books. In reality they are not. If they are up on any Australian corporate book other than Pinnacle, they would be limited just like you and me. These corporate are business and they will make every effort not to lose money.

Last time I call Ubet (tatts) that my bets are not getting accepted, they striaght away told me that we are business and we have to pay our expenses and bills. Though I was not happy with Ubet but atleast they have the audacity to tell me truth.

Unfortunately Labor would do precisely the same.

Our politicians of all colour are just too ignorant about gambling and too fearful of a readily brainwashed public to challenge the misconceptions being spread by the "problem gambling" lobbyists.

Yeah probably they would. Liberals have come right out and said that's what they want to do already but don't want to debate the issue pre-election.

That should tell us they fear some sort of backlash from it I thought...

If they do bar us from offshore bookies and I find I'm unable to find a way to bet with Pinnacle, Matchbook and SBO I'll be giving up sports betting altogether because there's just no way to get any reasonable bets down with bookies doing business in Australia. The only ray of light would be Betfair.

I think they will try. At least a VPN will deal with the access part. It's if they start making it hard to get money to/from Pinny etc that would really effect us. Have not heard talk of that but bet it's on some minds as well.

We've seen with other countries that bar offshore books that they simply comply and don't take players from those countries.
Perhaps there'd be a way using brokers and bitcoin for funding?

As long as they don't start having AU licensed bitcoin exchanges block offshore gambling transactions like Circle/Coinbase are.

I'm surprised that you haven't already tried a broker Hareeba. But I Imagine they will be looking for our business if/when this all goes down. Best to be established beforehand I think.

Pinnacle are banned already as they are not licensed in AU. As is every offshore bookmaker.

There is just not adequate laws to police it. Yet.

    Why?
I've never seen any need as yet.
Been able to fund and use the best offshore sites directly.

Users like HeeeHaaawww make it sound like the multi book interfaces offer better opportunities than we can get shopping non-broker books. And you are serious about your betting and getting value.

    Zero!
    The punter can't be prosecuted.
And there's no way that they can get at Pinnacle under current laws.
Just keep betting there as long as you can and want to.

    What Hareeba said.

No law says Aussies can't gamble where we like. Just who can offer it to Australians or offer markets on Australian based events.

i think tha australians will not give down this rpoblem and as many of us from different countries (where betting is restricted for certain bookies) will find ways to handle the problem if they really want to do this: agents, vpn, bitcoin ....
