    Bovada stole $20,000 from me.

Id like to warn everybody to avoid Bovada. They are sleezy criminals that dont like winning players.

I reside in Australia but I usually spend at least three months of the year in the USA because of my work.

A friend recommend Bovada to me because they had some great lines for live betting on a sport I follow.

I read the terms and conditions and there was no requirement that a new member should be a US citizen or
permanent resident. At the time I was residing in the USA so it seems there was nothing to stop me joining.

My first few deposits of a couple of thousand dollars lost and Bovada said nothing and took the money.
I redeposited and then ran up a $20,000 profit. Bovada shut my account and requested Docs. I provided them.

They then requested I call them and had there accounts manager rudely interrogated me as if he was the head of the FBI.
I asked him to show me which of the terms and conditions id broken. He stammered around and finally all he could
produce was using a VPN. Over 90% of my log ins were from a USA cell phone using the 4g network(NO VPN). There were a couple
of logins from my laptop were the VPN was running unfortunately. So based on this he confiscated my $20,000 profit and refunded
    my deposit.

I was outraged and went to Kahnawake gambling commission the administrator of the indian nation where this scam company is based. They were rude unprofessional and totally one sided. They never even asked for my side of the story and just ruled in Bovadas favour.

Here is Bovadas scam.. If you are a sharp player that manages to beat their lines they will try to fault you on any detail and steal your profits.
If you lose they will just not bother to check you out and keep the money.

For example if they were fair about their using a VPN rule you could make a bet and if it loses then just log in with a VPN.
This should void the user agreement and force them to return your deposit.
Of course this would never happen which demonstrates the scam they are running.
They will only use the VPN clause to steal money from winning players.

    Avoid Them.
Stay Away run for the hills.
You have no rights once you give them your money. They can just do what ever they please.
They will always shower losing players with promos and do whatever they can to confiscate sharp players profits and drive them
    away.

    Mark.

    Hi marktg,

    Thanks for sharing.

Unfortunately, if the Kahnawake Commission has already ruled in Bovada's favor, we're not able to do much more than read your complaint and share our opinion if ours is different. Bovada would have been bound to pay the disputed amount if the KGC ruled against them. The gaming commissions exist for this reason.

they only like rec betters. The people who say they get paid fast and on time from them are people who cash out small amounts. I still remember when i won 40k from them a couple years back and it took them 7 months to pay me quoting "processor issues". its a mickey mouse book and anyone who bets bigger money should never play there.

They should refund your first initial few lost deposits then as well....if you never had authority to play there then you didn't lose your first few deposits either.

^ Agreed. Asked if you can get your deposits back. That would seem fair for both sides.

I obviously don't know the whole story here but this seems like a pretty egregious move. If they had an issue with the VPN they should have brought it up BEFORE the guy won 20k. Why are they rated A if they pull this kind of sh*t?

This surprises me, since i know a few Bovada players who withdraw sometimes 5 figures monthly. I can not play there since i reside in NY. But BoDog/Bovada always seemed to be very "keep players happy", Covering overlays of 70K+, back in the day of there Sunday 100K tournament. If you ever had any issue, it got resolved and they throw in free MTT buy ins for you etc.

However, since Black Friday maybe it is different. I know when online became legal in NJ, I tried to make an account at 1 of the sites and it blocked me since i tried from NY. I called and said i reside between both homes throughout the year, and could prove with documents. There TOS was written along the lines of "if i could prove dual residency, and only logged in from my NJ ip address" i could deposit, play, withdraw etc.

So check there TOS/user agreement stuff and see how it is written. Maybe just wagers cancelled from you Australia ip addres should be voided, but i dont think they should freeze everything.

Sorry to here this and good luck!

not exactly right, bovada doesn't accept Aussie residents, however, an Aussie (or any nationality) residing in the US is welcome.

Yeah, but they can't free roll him that way.

They are the only crap book I know who charge deposit fees.

This makes me a little nervous. I'd like to think if I catch lightning in a bottle and hit that 8-steamer or whatever I'll get paid. My question is did they take deposits AND make small payouts before his balance got up there or is this his first payout request? This really looks like textbook controlling to me.

Isn't this the sort of thing that should appear in an SBR Report? People should know what these shady books are doing to customers.

I tried to join Bovada a month ago. Tried depositing with interact transfer but it involves a delay of 48 hours. During this time I kept getting calls from their rep asking me to deposit with a credit card. I kept saying its fine I have a deposit on its way. They said to me:" If you deposit with a credit card you get to play right away." I turned them down. A day later I got an email from them saying they no longer take quebec residents and my deposit didn't go through.

I woulda been in the op's situation had I given them my card number.

Just to be clear here, anyone who uses a proxy can get their balance confiscated?

I use a VPN often, just wondering if Bovada is going to take my funds when I try to cash out.
