    BetOnline Bonus Scam

A few weeks ago was sent an email from BetOnline offering a 75% bonus. Terms and Conditions listed were as follows:

    1. A minimum deposit of $50.00 is required to qualify for this 75% bonus.
    2. The maximum bonus is $1,000.00.
    3. There is a 10x (ten time) rollover requirement associated with this bonus.
    4. In order to receive this bonus you must use the promo code 75KICKOFF in the Cashier while making your deposit.
    5. Deposits via book-to-book, Skrill and Neteller do not qualify for this offer.
    6. This bonus can only be claimed once per customer.
    7. The free plays earned are for the sportsbook. They cannot be used in the Racebook, Casino, Poker, Live Betting, or Skill Games.
    8. You must use any free plays already in your account before claiming any new free plays.
    9. This promotion expires on Monday, August 31, 2015 at 11:59pm (ET).
    10. This promotion is by invitation only and non-transferrable.
    11. No withdrawal can be made for 30 days after the bonus has been credited to your account.
    12. BetOnline reserves the right to modify or discontinue this promotion at their discretion.
    13. Standard terms and conditions apply to all bonuses, please see website Rules for details.

    Made deposit via bitcoin.

They charged a $26 transaction fee for the bitcoin (which we all know costs them nothing).

They also didn't give me my bonus.

After using live chat, I find out that the small amount of money I already had in my account was too much to qualify for a bonus.

I try to get all of my money out, and of course they are going another 2% fee and they say I need to place at least the amount of my deposit in bets with them to make a withdrawal.

The days when you could expect BetOnline to give a shit about its customers are long gone. I prefer Bookmaker anyway, but they tempted me with the 75% bonus and now they are holding my money hostage.

    Beware of BetOnline!

They are surprisingly stingy with their bonuses. Claim you have to have a zero balance and they've got some weird rules about average bet size. I had a similar issue but they wound up giving it to me.

If you send someone a card, you ought to give them the bonus. They've got to meet rollover.

Exactly. Good to hear that they made things right for you.

I would have been fine with it if they had mentioned that I couldn't have a meager balance in the email message that they sent me, but they had to bury it in a huge wall of text of additional restrictions. It's not right.

The strange thing is they apparently think you are a dope because they gave you a square bonus. You'd think they'd want to give it to you. I'd sent a polite message to Player Services making your case and they will probably give you the bonus.

I got a message through SBR. I will update if they do come through with the bonus.

The hidden bitcoin deposit fee was also upsetting. More than 2% fee on the front and back end for something that costs them next to nothing? It should be listed somewhere on the deposit page. It's the combination of these two things that upsets me quite a bit.

They are scammers for sure on a lot of these things. But they do like your business and they don't give out 75% bonuses to everybody. The customer service reps will just try to stonewall you because they don't have any ability to make decisions. You've got to get past the front line.

    Not cool, BOL

By contrast, TheGreek were cool and just waived a 5% withdrawal fee after 2-3 emails. I had deposited 600 (no bonus) and was only able to bet less than 300. After winning the bet, I wanted to withdraw immediately. $15 skrill fee made sense to me - they do get charged by skrill for sure - but their rule also states that, unless full deposit amount is wagered at least once, a further 5% fee would be charged on the amount that hasn't been wagered (in my case, just over 300).

Apparently, they agreed that not listing bet max size on their betting pages is misleading and I simply wouldn't have deposited 600 if bet max was in fact listed. I ended up paying $15 fee, since I was unwilling to wait 30 days and 'keep my account active' to withdraw for free, but 5% was waived - as it should have been in my case.

One thing that made me very curious is their reluctance to specify how much in fees they pay to Skrill for each transaction. In my mind, skrill should charge merchants more or less the same. What's the big secret, then? Does anyone have any idea how much BOL or Greek pay for each deposit, say of 600euro, to systems such as skrill, bitcoin, neteller, or your bank in case of CC deposit?

This dump has 2 things going for ten. They pay and have great live wagering. Although the paying part is all that should matter.

Update: JG contacted me via phone and resolved my complaints. He said to ask for him if there are any future mishaps, which is great. 75% bonus promised. $26 fee waived.

However, I still think that the maximum on account balance for bonuses should be made much clearer in the promo emails and that 5%+ transaction fee for bitcoin (bitcoin!) is excessive and should be listed on the deposit screen.
