I want to be a local, best PPH site to use?
Did a search, lot of threads with no real information. Also a lot of them were outdated. Does anyone have a recommendation? Tried to look over reviews, but there's no real definitive answer which ones are the best.
http://www.payperheadglobal.com/ and http://www.realbookies.com/ are two I'm currently leaning towards.
Any useful feedback would be appreciated.

To play at or use to run your own book?
Run my own. Want to start with friends of friends, local old bar guys that play those terrible parlay tickets and eventually move on to college kids.
I imagine it's much of a muchness Reigle. Any that have a reliable site and decent player management tools will work and your players wont care if you dont like the first one and shift anyway.
Think you need a thread title like "I want to be a local, best PPH site to use" so the right people find you for proper advice.
I'll see if anyone drops in the thread. The ones I've tested out seem fine, but always good to get some info from people that have done it.
You can go ahead and edit the title if you're able.
why would you want to be your friends' bookie? obviously you don't care much about your friendship.
I helped a local book games in college. Gave me a cut of the action, but more importantly he backed me financially. Your friends can get hot and break you. Real question is do you have enough $ to start up. Takes more than you think.
old local bar guys have no money and will just be taking shots at you, eventually stiffing you and laughing about it. college kids definitely have no money and think they know everything and could care less about stiffing you after they take their shots. you need to rethink your customer base as you can't win money off people who don't have any.

Uhh that totally depends on the college. if it's any college in California the kids is probably loaded to the gills with parents money.
all those Ivy League schools in the north east same thing. many of those kids have black cards.

Guy is right. Not the most stable of customer bases. You have to plan for a % of no pays. Thus another reason you better be rolled.
If I was a local given my current financial situation I would have to set low limits and not allow parlays.
i would be worried that somebody would hit one of these 10 team parlays and totally bury me
the days of sending out goons and breaking kneecaps are obsolete. just because a college kid has money (of course some have lots of it) doesn't mean they're going to pay when they find out their schoolmate betting chum stiffed and only ended up getting shut off. college kids don't care about the code of the bookie. lose you pay win you get paid.

you'd never go to jail if you got caught. only about a 3000.00 fine at most. but, the real risk is paying off customers (especially college kids) for a short period of time and then when they lose it back they say i don't have it. i spent it. sorry. that would happen.good way to go to jail

Why worry about pay only if you give them an account after they pay you beforehand? Just don't do credit accounts. Instead give some sort of bonus and add a ridiculous roll over and they will all cave in....
