You just need a few friends that will put pressure on the kids to pay if they don't. You don't need some vanilla ice tactic like what happened to goldy, just some guys that run harassment until the debt is settled. If the amount of credit you are extending to your "friend" is worth physically harming them then I would say keep them on an amount you could handle if/when you get stiffed. Personally I would not book bets from my friends other than friendly side wagers but I certainly understand why guys do. Great way to make money for sure.

You're in dream land if you think that's how bookies operate. Maybe 1% are tough guys like the movies. 99% will never lay a finger on a no-pay no matter the amount. They may phone the guy and his family but it never goes beyond that because
A) When someone is physically threatened then always go to the cops
B) The amounts relative to the jail time received for conspiracy/harrassment and aggrevated assault are not worth it when you consider they'll be likely another case invovling booking on top of those charges.

There's lots of stories out there of big stiffs 300k+ stealing from large "connected" shops and nothing happens to them. In dream movie land enforcers and bookies are kings but the reality is they are more likely just another undercapitalized college student looking to book the MMA/college action with a pph of their somewhat more retarded suburban friends when they're drunk watching mma/college stuff on tv.

2) The vast majority of deadbeat gamblers are what's available to new books

It's been a while since I've done it, so I'm sure a few things have changed. My experiences with college kids is that most pay, some win, some leave for the semester or the summer and slow pay, a small percentage bet over their heads and stiff. There will always be college kids, so in that regard they are stable. You know who your customers are better than anyone here though. One thing I didn't like is taking bets every day. No breaks. It weared me out. I didn't use software like this though. Good luck
