I saw that the other day. Pretty cool, definitely an edge of you know the games. I saw most of the spreads were "dota 2" which I have no clue about. But throw some destiny or halo in there and I'll slam the books

ESPN3 is covering it. There are announcers, they are pretty funny but I have no clue what they area playing.

My seven year old is loving it though.

    This from 2013...

Dota 2 is really big. It will be on ESPN3.

Edit- Sorry KVB. I didn't see your post since we made it approximately the same time.

How exactly is it easy money? Your betting on some guy playing video games. Is this really considered a sport? I am totaly confused. Is there injuries and stuff. One guy has a sore thumb or something. Don't get this at all.

Esports particularly starcraft in Korea are kinda weird but these kids are crazy good. If I got dedicated I could probably make some money on this. Team Liquid forums is good for starcraft along with Day9. I like Trump and Kripparian on hearthstone. I watch some WoW arena livestreams on twitch now and again. Interesting you can bet this now. I may have to start paying attention again.

I'm referring to betting options, not number of leagues. Outside of major competitions, it's basic at best. ML, Total, AH. How about both to score, team totals, ml/total bets, etc. They had this in their prematch betting and it was great. For a couple of months. Before they ditched it.

It seems It can definitely be rigged especially now if you add the betting element… There's basically no way to regulate it

i really doubt that.. these are geeky kids. video games are their life.. they are becoming stars,
this is a burgeoning industry and all they want to do is be professional gamers.. it's a fantasy
come true for them. plus, no refs.

seems it would be easy to bribe a dork playing video games to throw a match. Not sure why people would want to bet on other people playing video games. But hey whatever floats your boat

money makes people do things they wouldn't otherwise do...video game "pros" are no different than tennis players who throw matches for money. Just sayin

No way. Like a poster stated this is their life not only are they being compensated but this is all they're really good at and all that matters to them. I don't think a decent amount of money from gambling will persuade them to fix the only thing they're really good at competitively.

i know back when I played halo very competitively I didn't give a fuk about anything but winning and talking shit

The competitions they play in are global and now televised. This is their Super Bowl, no way they'd ever fix it

If you know what you are doing, this will be a lot easier to bet compare to sports. However, I am not touching this e-sports cuz Tony will come up with every excuse to close the winning bet.

This is actually REALLY big. Nitrogen Sports in bitcoin world has offered esports for awhile and always a hot topic in the chatroom. Like many here never thought esports would be big but there are some guys who cap it well and have made thousands of $$$ so far.
