how do i make a complaint about a wager?

i had a nrl wager on bovada that should've been graded as a push but they're saying it's a loss. they're trying to grade rugby games like soccer games. how do i make a case? thanks

this is their rules. the rule doesn't say anything about ties being a loss. i personally think they're making shit up since they lost a lot this weekend.

    Rugby Union and League

    1. All bets are for 80 minutes of play and any additional time the referee allows. Extra Time DOES NOT count.
    2. For handicap lines/prices the result used for settling/grading will be on the handicap line available when the bet was struck.
    3. In first tryscorer wagers, penalty tries do not count.
    4. In the event of a match being Abandoned or Postponed all bets will be deemed void (i.e., stakes returned).

5dimes virtually has the same rules but they counted as a push.

    Rugby Wagering
Rugby wagers are official on the result at full time (80 minutes of play + stoppage time) unless otherwise noted.
Unless otherwise specified, Rugby sevens match bets are settled on the specific tournament regulation play and do NOT include extra-time if played.
In the event of a change of opponent from the one advertised, all bets for that match will be graded No Action.

where is the complaint form? it's for $100 but it's the principle pal.

ties are never a loss in rugby.

these are their soccer rules. read #3, it clearly states that ml wagers that end in a draw are losers. it doesn't say that for rugby. trust me they lost huge this weekend and they're trying to screw people.

    Soccer

    1. Soccer games don't have to go full regulation play for wagers to have action. Games are official for wagering purposes after 40 minutes of the second half have been completed.
    2. Dates and bet times of all matches on Bovada Poker, Casino, Sportsbook and Racebook's website are for guidance purposes only and may be amended or taken off the board at any time. If a match is abandoned or postponed by more than 24 hours and it has not gone the 40 minutes of the second half, all bets will be cancelled. All abandoned matches that have played 40 minutes of the second half will be graded at the time of abandonment as per rule 1.

    3. Moneyline wagers on Soccer events have three outcomes - you can pick either of the teams to win, or you can pick a draw. If you don't pick a draw and the game ends in a tie, you lose the wager.
    4. Unless otherwise specified, the score at the end of regulation play (90 minutes plus injury time) will be used for wagering purposes. Results from extra time, golden goals, or penalty shootouts are not included.

    5. First/Last/Anytime Goalscorer: First Goalscorer, any player who does not play or who enters the game after the first goal has been scored will be no action. Last/Anytime Goalscorer, any player who does not play any part will be no action. If a match is abandoned after a goal is scored, all bets on the First Goal and No Goal will stand but all bets on Last Goal will be refunded. If a match is abandoned without any goal, all bets on the First, Last and No Goal will be no action. Own goals do not count.

    6. Scorecasts: Player to score 1st and the correct score. Any player who does not play or who enters the game after the first goal has been scored will be no action. Other selections on request.
    7. Double Chance: Wager on 2 of 3 possible outcomes from 3 options available (e.g. Home Win or Draw, Away Win or Draw, Home Win or Away Win).
    8. Time of First Goal: Goal times settled as of www.flashscore.com.
    9. Team to Record a Shutout Win: To predict if the team will win the match and not concede any goals.
    10. Total Corners Line: The Number of Corners result is decided by the total number of corners of Home/Away teams in a designated match. Retaken corners are counted as one. Corners awarded but untaken do not count.
    11. Total Bookings Line: The cards shown to non-player (e.g. substitute/ reserve, manager or coach) do not count towards the total. Booking Points are calculated as: 1 yellow card = 1 point, 1 red card = 2 points. The maximum points count per player is 3 points.
    12. First Yellow Card: If the booking is a straight red card, it will be regarded as a red card but not a yellow card. In the event of twoor more players receiving a booking for the same incident, then the player who is shown the first yellow card by the referee will be deemed the outcome.
    13. Man Of The Match: Unless otherwise specified, this will be settled according to the result declared by the official source displayed on www.UEFA.com.

should that matter? does it say on the rules?

the spread was -2 +100, ml was -115

maybe the option for a draw was like +10000

if they're gonna grade rugby games like soccer, they need to put that on the rule book.

    like this...

    3.
Moneyline wagers on Soccer events have three outcomes - you can pick either of the teams to win, or you can pick a draw. If you don't pick a draw and the game ends in a tie, you lose the wager.

and why is this wager a push at 5Dimes but different at bovada?

If the money line is three way (home, win and draw) then the draw is the winner and your bet lost.

    Rugby Union and League
    1. All bets are for 80 minutes of play and any additional time the referee allows. Extra Time DOES NOT count.

Look at Bet365, they offer a 3 way coupon for NRL.
If the game ends in a Tie, then the winning bet is a Tie.
If the market is 2 way then the rules are obviously different.

If books offer only 2 way it's like nhl it includes the sudden death ot
It doesn't happen often in rugby it's genrally about a 14-1 chance that it ends in the game going to the golden point

there are options to bet ties in nfl but it doesn't mean when games end up in ties, they are graded as losses.

the rules are the rules. there aren't any rules in rugby where it says ties are graded as losses.

you can't grade rugby or football like soccer just because you guys had a huge loss this past weekend.

Surely this is simply a case of determining whether the betting offered was 2 way or 3 way?
If they were offering odds on only the two teams rather than 3 way (draw/tie included) as is normal in soccer and most UK books for rugby, then your bet is a push.
I don't play at Bovada so don't really know what is normal there but I did just load their site and for the only rugby games I could see on offer there they don't offer a draw/tie option so I would say you are correct that they ought to have settled your bet as a push.

It's a simple question kahn, was the bet you made a 3 way line (options side A, side B, or tie) or was it a 2 way line (options Side A or Side B)?

it's not that simple. read the rules before you jump into any conclusion. where does it clearly say in rugby rules?

rugby rules on bovada is different than the ones in bet365.

these are the rugby rules on bet365, it clearly states the 2 and 3 way lines. bovada and 5 dimes doesn't.

i will stick to my guns and say i'm correct in saying my ml was a push. always read the rules folks, don't assume.

Ok, so you bet on Melbourne Storm to win against Nth Queensland Cowboys?
Bovada appears only to offer 2 way betting on rugby league (which is normal in Australia but not in UK).
The game was tied at the end of normal time. The Cowboys won by 1 point with a field goal in extra time.
Relevant rule from what you posted above is:
Unless otherwise stated all Rugby bets are settled on 80 minutes play. The term 80 minutes play includes any stoppage time.
Therefore your bet is clearly a push.

I might add that this is contrary to normal NRL betting rules in Australia where extra time does count in 2 way betting. I too bet on this game and unfortunately got beaten by JT's extra time field goal.

i had the cowboys ml. i'm not sure if they even offered a draw line. i wasn't even paying attention to the draw line since the spread was so low. but regardless, they should clearly state that in the rules like bet365. you can't make it ambiguous and grade the wager in their favor since both ml wagers would be losses.

i mean if they clearly state draws are losses, i would've put a dollar on a draw at +10000. the spread was 2 and only reason why i took the ml was just in case of a push.

I don't find the rule ambiguous. Bovada's rule is quite clear that extra time doesn't count and your bet was a push.
I do find the rule unusual though for NRL. An Australian bookie would have settled a bet on the Cowboys as a win.

rugby rules on bovada is different than the ones in bet365.

these are the rugby rules on bet365, it clearly states the 2 and 3 way lines. bovada and 5 dimes doesn't.

i will stick to my guns and say i'm correct in saying my ml was a push. always read the rules folks, don't assume.
