Guess I have been lucky. I sent a couple deposits to a few books and havent had Coinbase shut me down yet.

They are a pain in the balls though. Circle is much better. I also got bought some instant (when price tanked a few weeks ago) from trucoin, but they charge 60 bux per 1000 and you can only buy 1000 worth per day. Plus they add a premium on top of it. I think I paid 221 or 223 there and they were 217 or 218 at most other places. Theyre listed at 245 right now and theyre 237 on most exchanges. But thats the price of expediency I suppose.

Bitcoins a lot like books though you need to have funds (cash) available all over the place to hit the spots where theyre too cheap to not get a few.

I think Coinbase has a serious flaw that will bite them in the ass. You can have zero funds in your bank and buy $10k worth of coins. They allow you to buy instantly which is a great convenience but a HUGE FLAW for them.

When you buy instantly they give you the bitcoins right away but they take 4 days to charge your account.

    They are nuts allowing this.

Raiders, if chain block doesn't help with coinbase, why would you recommend it with circle?

Circle not shutting down accounts. Circle to blcokchain.info to Sportsbook. You can still use Coinbase if you want since they haven't confiscated money.

In another thread we were talking about localbitcoins.com. It's another way to buy/sell bitcoins.

For the past year and a half, a Silicon Valley startup has quietly convinced some of the biggest names in venture capital to back its effort to turn the technology behind bitcoin into a mass-marketed phenomenon.
Now, that company, which bears the name 21 Inc., is emerging from stealth to announce it has raised $116 million in venture funding, the most ever by a startup in the digital-currency sector, based on data from bitcoin news service Coindesk.

Although the company's exact goals are as-yet unknown, 21 co-founder Balaji Srinivasan (who is also a general partner at Andreessen Horowitz) once gave a talk about breaking free from the rule of governments and old institutions by building "a world run by software." (Originally pointed out by Reddit user Noosterdam.)For more on 21's funding, see The Wall Street Journal's report.

Correction: The headline was updated to reflect that 21 Inc. has raised $116 million.

I'll try to keep misc. bitcoin news in this thread.

“Bitcoin is going to change the way that people and businesses and even machines interact with each other,” he says. “But for bitcoin to realize that vision we need mass adoption. It can’t just be for Silicon Valley.”

Selling by Paypal can be risky because of charge backs. I just sold 2 bitcoins above market price to this guy. He averages 17 minutes per trade but paid me in 1 minute. I sold for $306/BTC. localbitcoins.com
