    5dimes took me for

Update by SBR Admin: Hi hawk 5,

The 5Dimes rule reads as follows:

If there is more than one winner, the Tie Breaker is used. The Tie Breaker is the person who guessed the closest, and it does not matter if the guess is over. If there is still a tie after the Tie Breaker, the pot is split amongst the tied winners.

In the player notes for the pool in question it reads the following:

Tie Breaker is winning car number.

Please let us know if you have any questions. You may not like the rule, but it is worded clearly and was applied correctly.

80$ on a nascar office pool. said the number 22 was less than the number 48 so he won the tie breaker because the winner was #4? I said bull shet the 48 finished in front of the 22 by 8 spots but they said the number was lower so he won? then hung up because a started cussing

you pick the winner of 14 head to head drivers in a given race. the tie breaker is who u think will win or place better than the other peoples tie breaker. it came down to the tie breaker and I had the 48 car, 9th, and the other person had the 22 car, 16th. but 5 dimes said that since neither car won the race they gave it to him based on the car number being lower not finishing order. im sober today so will see if I can get this through to them

    Hi hawk 5,

5Dimes asks players to first document their issue with a manager via live help. Please go to live help and request Becky or Tony and explain your issue. If you still disagree with the handling, email the entire transcript to mail@sportsbookreview.com.

one of the craziest things i read here. because the car had a lower number ---- it won over a higher numbered car in a tie. why the hell would a number of the car have anything to do with the outcome of the race.

The 4 car won so the car number u have needs to be closer than the other contender. He had 22 and I had 48, so he wins even though the 48 finished in front of the 22. Go figure. I'm banned from all office pools for disagreeing.

I talked to Tony on live help. He banned me from doing office pools and disabled my button. I'm wondering if the rules for the tie breaker are on my side and hes keeping me from reading them by disabling my office pool. Can anybody help me with that? I can't get in to read them.

i guess you need some rule in case of a tie. it's not that 22 is a lower number -- it's that 22 is closer to the winning number. big difference. sounded nuts but now makes some sense.

I guess. stupid rule. Why not the best finisher? if the 22 finishes 43 and the 48 finishes 2nd is it fair?

    Hi hawk 5,

The 5Dimes rule reads as follows:

If there is more than one winner, the Tie Breaker is used. The Tie Breaker is the person who guessed the closest, and it does not matter if the guess is over. If there is still a tie after the Tie Breaker, the pot is split amongst the tied winners.

In the player notes for the pool in question it reads the following:

Tie Breaker is winning car number.

Further: The Tie-Breaker guess is designed for daily pools in football, basketball, and baseball. This guess is generally the total of the last game of the pool. This guess is graded based on the closest guess. The same grading system applies for the closest guess to the winning car number. The rule listed on all pools for the past decade has been: "Tie Breaker is winning car number". At no point has the rule ever been: "Tie Breaker is best finisher". As there is no way for the current pools system to grade a tiebreaker guess in this manner.

Please let us know if you have any questions. You may not like the rule, but it is worded clearly and was applied correctly.
