    Review: Wager550.com is a scam!

    Al Bundy,

Am I glad you asked! Yes, Wager550.com is a scam! Here's the proof...

As many of you might have experienced, I also received a phone call from "Rocky" aka "John Rockwell" this past summer 2014 (His phone number was 1-888-980-0123. I was led to believe (like everyone else) that I was being given a free $550 to use as an introduction to their sports book. Of course, there was a catch, and when I asked what I had to do to cash out, "Rocky" went on to explain the rules:

    - All bets must be against the spread (no moneyline or parlays, juice is -110)
    - All bets must be between $50 and $250 per bet.
    - There is a 25x rollover ($550 x 25 = $13,750 must be wagered)
    - You can't cash out more than $2,500.

I took the deal, received my account number and placed a few bets and forgot about it.

A month or two later Rocky called me back, thinking I lost, he offered to match whatever my initial deposit was with a "free play" for the same amount. If I deposited $1000, I would get a $1000 free play.

I told Rocky that I still had a few hundred dollars and was going to try my luck at winning the "550 challenge" and then (assuming I won) I would use that to fund my account. I then began a strategy to win this money...and 2 months later after steady betting I bet over the $13750 required and still have nearly $1400 in my account!

I was excited and I called Wager550.com (1-888-712-0255). Initially I spoke to "Larry" who when I told him that I met the rollover and wanted to cash out, said, "Ok let me check for you" and hung up on me. I immediately called back and it left a voicemail for him to return my call, no response. A week later I called and we directed to Larry's voicemail again, again I requested a callback, nothing. Finally I called "Rocky's" old number (THANK GOD I WROTE IT DOWN ALL THOSE MONTHS AGO!) and the call went to "Kyle", who was nothing short of a douchebag.

"Kyle" through his mumbling and stumbling kept ignoring my request to cash out and kept asking if I would deposit $1000 of my own money, because if so, he could give me a nice bonus. WTF?

I told him first let me cash out and then we can talk about that. after about 15 minutes Kyle finally made it clear that there was no money to cash out (hence the SCAM). Kyle said after beating around the bush for another 10 minutes, that the best he could do was give me a freeplay for the amount in my Wager550.com account, ONLY IF I DEPOSITED THE SAME AMOUNT WITH THEM FIRST!!!

1ST - THIS IS THE SAME DEAL THEY GIVE EVERYONE (REMEMBER ROCKY OFFERED ME THIS MONTHS AGO WHEN HE THOUGH I LOST)
2ND - This company operates out of the U.S. (at least whois.sc shows they're using GoDaddy with IP's in the U.S.) which should let you know right there that they are not a legitimate book and you should not trust them with your money.
3RD - They only take money via ** (RED FLAG #3)

    DO NOT TRUST THIS COMPANY!

P.S. When you call them the message says "Thank you for calling World Gaming Group, the #1 offshore sports book and casino". Googling "World Gaming Group" and could not find any company by that specific name except for a video gaming organization. (RED FLAG #4)

I hope this helps you if you were considering wasting your time with this scam...but as Kyle told me when I told him this is a scam "It's not a scam...how much money did you lose?" (with a douchebag tone). When I told him I lost valuable time he said, "but you didn't lose any money so it's not a scam". UNBELIEVABLE!

Just got a text from them. It's probably one of those in between scams. I think they do intend to pay, but they don't really want to lose / have to pay.

I got a user name and have to call their toll free number for my password. I called, got an automated greeting, then after a couple seconds of static, it went to voicemail.

I guess they don't want educated customers lol.

It doesn't say anything on their website about a free $550. I want to try this to see if they pay. Do you have to call and request it or something?

C'mon guys. Don't waste your time.

It's just a freeroll of you trying to get a real deposit after you lose. 99% chance you wont be paid out for winning with real money either.

I hear you. But if it is not credit account and just a free $550 why not take a shot? Worst thing is they won't pay.

con-fidence men have ways of getting under your guard even when you think you're expecting it.

plus you only encourage them to keep going and suck others in.
