New Jersey passes new betting legislation in Senate 38-1

Expect the assembly to vote on it tonight.

With those numbers and projected numbers, they could pass this without Christie's approval.

Pretty wild they got a 38-1 vote on this issue.

Oh, and the prick who voted against it?

A tea party rep.. Michael Doherty. You have to love those tea party folks...champions of liberty and smaller government...having the chance to pass a bill completely deregulating and decriminalizing gambling... and he can't see to extending those freedoms.

    Too fuking funny.

    Assembly passed it 63-6.

Christie has 45 days to sign it.

And even if he doesn't...... they have to votes to override Christie.

    Easy Goldie.

I'm a fan of people doing what they want with their own money.

I don't care if it is Jersey, Delaware, or California. If people want to gamble with their money, they should be allowed to.

We have a congress who worked a grand total of 103 fukkign days in one year..... 103.....they are crooked, lying scumbags. Bought and paid for.

If we Americans want to use our hard earned cash and throw a couple hundred bucks on the outcome of a sporting event, we should be allowed to without worrying about some moron arresting us.

    That is my stake here.

Why would Christie not sign it?

Comprehensive Drug Abuse Prevention and Control Act of 1970 bans marijuana distribution and sales... that doesn't seem to matter either.

    Exactly.

Colorado and Washington dared the Justice Department to stop them.

    They didn't.

And, making it worse, the Justice Department in their brief, argued that if Jersey wanted sports wagering, all they had to do was not license it.

It's as if the Justice Department willfully decided to give New Jersey the loophole they needed.

    It won't be.

It would be like betting with your local.

Except in this case, your local will be Monmouth Park.

It'll be regulated by word-of-mouth, just like locals are. If MP doesn't pay, people won't play there. No different than online books, which aren't regulated. You just pick the one that's rated well and actually pays winners.

    Nice try Goldie.

Except for the fact that Jersey has not had a pitch to swing at yet.

Give them one week running a sportsbook before you judge/call them unsafe, deal?

Sucks for me that if it happens they'll be starting at the track and not the casinos. I'm a little gunshy betting big online because of what the land of the free did to poker however many years ago it is now. Hopefully everything works out and the casinos put in books.

Goldie...you see the irony in your post?

    Or idiocy?

You are worried about the "wild wild west".....while you are a paid poster for a website that promotes and sells advertisements for offshore sports gambling.

It doesn't get more "wild wild west" than the loony tunes at BetIslands.

    You're full of shit.

    And you know it.

Every "safe" book has bounced checks.... 5D, Bookmaker...... all have had payment processor problems.

I won't have any reason to worry about a check from Monmouth Park...because I'll be paid in cash.

No more worrying about being blacklisted by M---G, or W---U. No more worry about payment processor problems.

You're acting as if Tony fukking drives the cash to your house and drops it off if you win.

    Stop bullshitting.

    At least be honest.

If the states get sports wagering.....all these offshores become a thing of the past, and all those ad dollars that allow for Walker to pay people to post dries up.

You may ask Monmouth now if they are hiring 5 guys to post on a website they may start. I hear they are hiring.

Mom park is a dump Like all the tracks so it will be a half ass place with all bumbs

    I'm going to Vegas
