cowardly pommies? Almost all of the home bookies in aus had been shit for years with winners or sharps a long time before the euro books came a calling.

name ALL of the current AUS owned books who take a bet from a winner to a decent amount?

Every bookmaker on the rails to lose 5k.

    Topsport

    TAB

Betchoice (Now Unibet and owned offshore but they wouldn't book a bet if it wasn't for the Australian racing traders)

    Sportsbetting

Betstar used to be half decent until they were setting up to sell out to these cowardly limeys.

Pommey books who will take a bet... exchanges or nothing.

    Clueless!

One horse I liked today was available in morning markets at 8.50 with some "bookmakers"

It started at 4.40 on the tote.

I backed a horse named Oxford Poet a few weeks back at $13 in early fixed odds markets and it SP'd at $3.60 and won.

Zeljko and the other rebate kings rape all the value out of the totes, I'd rather bet on course.

    Butthurt much?

I was told they'd bet to lose 5k on metro racing and wouldn't close my account, so far this is true. They might be soft on the sports side but I haven't even looked at those markets.

I should have mentioned palmerbet earlier as well.

They certainly are related though they are separate entities.
Expect some communication from them soon to explain why you might need to have both accounts.
Seems not all markets will be available on the AU site.
But horse racing will be unique to it.

Hareeba, if you have been restricted closed down by Pommie/Pommy/limey bookmakers in Australia, its probably because you are the distant relative of deported convicts from Pommieland to Oz many moons ago and cant be trusted to be an honest customer.......having said that I would hate to stereotype our distant Ozzie cousins as having criminal bloodlines......nah that would be childish and insulting to the point of being really boring would'nt it.

I mean........do you know of anyone who would keep banging on and on and on and on........ about those Pommie cowardly bastards and how those complete c**ts wont take a bet?

Not sure what worthwhile could be said, Pinnacle dipping their toe in the Aussie market, probably good news for you guys.

You usually make some fine points and excellent posts, I get where you are coming from with the frustration of being limited/closed down by European corporate bookmakers, we have the same problems here, but why the insulting tone in some of your cowardly pommie comments?

Keep up the high standard of intelligent posts Hareeba, leave the nonsense to others, you are better than that

Yes, I'm really hoping Pinnacle's racing proves to be a salvation.

Australia once had an excellent online bookmaking service. But all the firms providing it have now been taken over by English and Irish firms masquerading as bookmakers. They are cowards. A coward is a participant who backs away from engaging in fair contest. Sums them up perfectly. They have utterly ruined the scene for punters here. And believe it or not they are all members of what they call the Australian Wagering Council. Nothing Australian about them at all! Not the ownership and most certainly not anything approaching the spirit of fair play which Australians hold sacred.

Couldnt agree more that they have ruined the Aussie scene, I had perfectly good accounts at the like of Sportsbet etc for years suddenly made useless as soon as the likes of Paddypower took over. Like alot of businesses many of the home grown Aussie books got greedy, have grabbed the money from the bigger corporate UK/Irish bookies and fled the scene leaving few choices for the savvy punter.
Not too many Aussie indie bookmakers now, I always loved the informal way they dealt with customers, like nothing was too much trouble, not much of that left now, although I really like and still use Topsport & Betezy.

    Hi guys,

We will have an official statement from the management of Pinnacle Sports soon. But rest assured this Australian website is legitimate, although please standby for the statement as it will address the questions you've asked.

    Ok cool.

If I was them I'd move all AFL/NRL action to the Aus version to encourage Australian punters to sign up with the Aus version. I doubt the international site would get much action from non Australians on those markets.

However I'd be pretty disappointed if Australian's can't use the international version for the more liquid sports like soccer and tennis. I'm not sure how keen I'd be to have a large balance at a start up website that could get cleaned up by sharps on horse racing which is outside of pinnacle's current expertise.

We WILL be able to maintain accounts with both books.

I'm told that only a few markets won't be covered on the .au site, including Formula 1 and snooker.

But for me, I'm not sure of the value of maintaining my PinnacleSports account as I don't bet on snooker and I've never found their F1 markets near as good at Betfair's.

Only concern then is the x5 turnover crap on a new deposit.

I see also that they don't provide golf outright markets either. Not that Pinnacle is ever competitive on those compared with Betfair.

    This is f...ing brilliant.
I can almost hear the moans from the boardrooms of 'Hills and 'Brokes from Melbourne.
'Hills just paid $30m, the other mob probably the same, to buy into what they thought would save them from going down the gurgler once their FOBT machines get limited in the UK, and now you'd have to think their Australian acquisitions will become almost worthless once Pinnacle get established. Hills are investing heavily in Vegas, so I guess they'll be ok. Ladbrokes might have to find an alternative market too.
    Bring it on Pinnacle.

The only weakness of pinnacle is there Mobile betting platform

Not that it is a big deal but it's an ancient product

If I am not mistaken, they recently released a new mobile version.
it looked fine to me, but I rarely use the mobile site for wagering to be honest.
