Moneybookers to cease processing gambling payments in Canada

Has anyone else heard news of this? I just received an email from them this morning.

Well I can't make any sense of that.

Booting out revenue earning business hardly enhances your investment does it?

If that's a recipe for success why just pick on Canada?

Interesting. Titanbet just restricted Canadian players. This means something is coming down the pipe. Incredibly Bodog.ca allows you to deposit by Interac-E transfer which entails logging into your online bank account and making a transfer.

Horrible news, Skrill worked well for me, always got wires fast without issues and almost every book accepted them. Just signed up for instaDB and hope it's as reliable. Pinny and 365 accept them but betCRIS and sbobet don't... what other options are people using?

This is going to make moving funds a lot more challenging. Seems like instaDB is the best option. When I tried to open an account there, I was told that they only can link it with a CAD based chequing account and not a USD based one. Anyone have success with opening a USD based chequing account at instaDB? Since all my funds online are in USD, it's going to be troublesome/costly to convert back and forth.

    Any suggestions?

What is in CVC Capital's interest in not dealing with Canadians?

CVC does not want to associate with money bookers if they deal in gambling transactions which legally could be right

I.N.S.T.A.D.E.B.I.T. is first choice from here(canada), for pinny and 365
next for betcris/bookamker ecopayz seems to be most fitting, and similiar to moneybookers,

    i N S T A D E B I T S UPLOAD limits are MUCH smaller,
and you are MANADATED to withdraw all funds to bank account (no limits)

    NO INTER ACCOUNT TRANSFER !!! i n s t a d e b i t to another i n s t a d e b i t account
and NO pay by check option

    YOU MUST REGISTER A BANK ACCOUNT, for i n s t a d e b i t

Yeah it does appear to be rather peculiar if there hasn't been any change in laws.

But it seems they aren't convinced about the legality, as it seems maybe Neteller weren't either and don't want to take the chance of being tainted by a scandal.

Either that or the Yanks have put a heap of pressure on them to take this action.

Moneybookers withdrawals (bank transfers) used to hit my Canadian bank account within 2 to 4 days.

However I currently have a bank transfer from them pending for 6 weeks now and I keep hearing excuses from Moneybookers that it's due to their changing their banking partnership to a German bank which does not have as efficient procedures. I also have a paper check withdrawal from them pending for about a month. Can't wait to hear the excuses for that one.

I'm left with the feeling that Moneybookers is slow paying me, the same feeling I've had in the past with bad bookies..

Why would we do this? Isn't Moneybookers the problem here? Why would anyone cash out to Moneybookers if they are not paying out? Why would a gambler want his roll stuck in an ewallet that does not allow deposits to gambling sites?

I would advise Canadians to withdraw money from all bookies who do not have any other decent deposit withdrawal options to Moneybookers, and then immediately deposit those funds into a trusted book such as Pinnacle sports, before the January 2nd Moneybookers deadline.

You will then be able to make a few bets and withdraw to **********, another ewallet or bank transfer.

This is also the procedure I used back when Neteller pulled out of Canadian gambling.

Krashman, that is the case with Euro bank transfers as well. They have been very slow for the past month or two.

Skrill Bank withdrawals used used to be incredibly fast from their UK bank to Finland and probably to most Euro countries as well. I used to get the money same day the processed email arrived. They usually sent it around 13:00-14:30 my local time (GMT+2) and the money hit my account around 16:00-16:30 like clockwork. Even local bank transfers between different banks here arrives before 06:00 in the morning next banking day. Never same day.

I was pretty impressed for their banking speed, but now I don't see much reason to use them anymore. they have come downhill fast for me. They increased their fees, especially p2p transfers quite a bit, and with slow bank withdrawals, I'll rather do my businees with Neteller. Most of the time I use NET+ card to buy stuff directly with no additional fees, but atm withdrawals and bank transfers work OK, and at least their support is faster to respond if there are any problems.

Too bad Canada don't have Neteller anymore. It used to be Canadian company. Hoping you guys will get decent alternative if I nstadebit not good enough. I personally have no experience with **********. I don't even know if they take Euro customers.

I wonder if they are mid audit by some security service who have frozen funds in some country.

    Just a wild theory.
