    Depositing to 5D. CS reply email

    Trying to deposit a small amount via *************. This is the email I got back from support.

    Dear Customer,
    In order to use *************, you must agree with the following terms:
    -Third party vendors (Poker rooms, Blackjack tournaments, Skill games) will be disabled on your account. You will still have access to the sportsbook, casino and lottery.
    -You will need to wait a 30 day clearance period after each deposit before withdrawing any funds from your account, regardless of where this funds came.
    If you agree with this terms, verify with your account number and password. Please let us know if we can be of further help.

    it is a very dodgy thing about this book. their reduced juice and reloads are A+, but the customer service with password monkey business is not near D-

    They did that to me with a regular CC deposit from the states. Not sure what is behind it.

    I take it that you gave them the password and had not have problems so far?

    I just made a deposit by Moneybookers and it went right through. I even had CS on the line to ask some questions and no mention of anything like this.

    The only reason I could think of for these restrictions is abuse, like chip dumping or chargebacks (CC). I am not sure how ewalletexpress works, but I am guessing it works like any other ewallet. So why have restrictions on ewalletexpress but not moneybookers?

    Anyway, I would give the CS or whoever my password if they asked it. I am pretty sure that the people who handle the money is a different department from the frontline CS, so it would be hard for them to do something fishy. Of course if you use the same password for your bank, e-mail and whatever then it could be a problem.

    I don't know a single company where CS is supposed to know the password. In a normal company password would be encoded and only couple of people (R&F) would even be allowed to decrypt it somehow.

    I am not giving my password to anyone.

    You have a person who is doing summer job with all your account details and password and you are not worried? You gotta be a nice guy in real life, trusting people this much is refreshing.

    Yea. So I am going to call to get this deposit done.
    I thought about changing the password and then change it back afterwards but couldn't find a way to change password on 5d.

    Chopsticks, I dont think 5d would ask for password, if anything they probably dont need to ask. It seems fishy in that the CS person who replied will do something fishy later on for personal use. i.e. customer is big sportsbettor and has over 50k. CS person who makes $10/hour logs in and transfer that to his own account.

    Follow up: So I called them to enable ************* transfer. I had to give them my account # and agree to the no skill games restriction. Took her more than minutes to get it done. I asked her whether it is common for CS to ask for password through email and she said YES.

    Don't understand why they have to do that. There must be another way to verify whether the email is truly from the account holder.

    Bookmaker asks for username and pw as well...5Dimes is far superior IMO.

    I find most CS people ask for passwords at most books when you call up.

    This is an area where Matchbook and WSEX have the rest of the industry beat badly. At matchbook and WSEX, you can change your password on the website as much as you want, and only you know the password.

    At WSEX they even have a special phone password that you can change as much as you want, without having to speak to a customer service person.

    Add this to the all the other areas where matchbook beats the industry and you have to conclude that matchbook is the best there is.

    This is why we have secret questions and such. I said earlier that I would not be uncomfortable sharing passwords with cs, but I would be much more comfortable telling them my mother's maiden name, the name of my first teacher or something like that. Most € bookies use that.

    I have no reason not to believe you. But honestly I think it is rare. I asked couple of experienced CS people about it and they thought it is very unusual as well.
