Bovada not paying out 46k??? or Stall Tactics???

Vegas Gambling Steam (twitter.com/pregame_steam) reported that Bovada has not paid out a winner from the Lisicki/Williams tennis match who won 21,000. According to the report Bovada is stating that the bet wasnt registered because the site was down for maintenance and it didnt go through properly on their end.

They have offered 4,000 dollars to the player as a compromise.

Whats even more worrying is that this same problem occured a week earlier on the Darcis v Nadal match. Its reported that a member won 25,000 on it, and the same site "Maintence" was cited and the bet didnt register properly.

They offered that member 9,000 dollars.

Just wondering if SBR knew anything more about this?

#Bovada *Update* Tells bettor they will not honor his winning $21,000 bet on #Lisicki "Sorry for the inconvenience on this matter"

What a no win situation with these books. Sorry you hit your bet buddy, but we're not paying out anyway because of "maintenance". We would have gladly accepted it if you missed though. Would be nice if I could take back my biggest bets and hands that I lost. Dealer I didn't say "All-in", I said ball'in...I'm ball'in right now. Give me my $500 back.

I think Lisiki was like +1050. Not sure about Darcis but obviously both were huge underdogs

Why would you ever take a big shot off shore? Only bad things can happen if you hit with little to no legal recourse on your end. Buy a plane ticket to Vegas. Books just generously offering 9 dimes and 4 dimes for the "confusion" Can't make this shit up.

Not if you're making a trip out of it for Wimbledon. I'm assuming it's not some square laying a few dimes on a +1050 dog or whatever it was. Chances are the guey was betting big money on multiple matches.

Offshore for US players is a joke at this point.....I throw money away trying to run up small amounts for fun on 5dimes but use a trusted local for standard bets and especially any big bets

Such BS but I blame the dumb fukkin politicians in our country more than anything

Also curious where SBR is on this, but as stated, business as usual.

Secondarily, if you're taking shots like this in an offshore book, you're pretty stupid. Whats an extra 300-500 for a plane ticket to Vegas to guarantee you're going to get paid? I would also assume if you're throwing that much money around, it can't be that hard to find a local bookie.

I dont know the full story obviously, but from what was tweeted Bovada is essentially stiffing 46,000 on huge underdog wagers.

I know Bovada pays the bills at SBR, but I think it'd be great if someone would look into this.

We spoke with Bovada regarding this.

There's indeed someone tweeting these claims, but:

    1. Bovada has received no such claim from any player.
    2. There was no maintenance going on.
    3. The purported wager would have needed approval as they were above the normal limits.
    4. The match in question paid out as normal.

As an aside, it looks like this Twitter personality has made false claims in the past to try to generate traffic, which might be his goal. Anyone with any questions can write to SBR or file a complaint.

Guess I'm the last person on the planet without a twitter account.

Just devil's advocate, did you expect Bovada to say "Oh yea, we canceled the bet and blamed maintenance ". ...no.

Just he said she said now until some hard evidence is shown.

This doesn't add up. If Bovada had no record of the bet, they wouldn't pay out anything at all. They certainly wouldn't take someone's word for it and pay out $4k - it's an admission that they had a record of it and thus must pay the full amount.

Yeah and when you add in that the anonymous person hasn't actually emailed Bovada or come forward anywhere, other than through this Twitter personality, it becomes a little easier to understand. All signs currently point to this being at minimum a conversation that was misunderstood between the Tweeting messenger and the player.

Could just be someone looking for attention no? Until someone files a report or has some substantial proof its all nonsense imo.
