    Betfair acquires Blue Square

    Betfair acquires Blue Square sportsbook

    ___________________________

BLUE SQUARE has become part of Betfair after the leading betting exchange completed the purchase of the online bookmaker from Rank Group.

    "Dear Xxxx

We have some important information regarding your Blue Square Bet account. Please take a moment to read through it carefully.

As of today, 2nd April 2013, you will no longer be able to bet with Blue Square Bet as we have transferred accounts to Betfair.

We would like to assure you that all funds are perfectly safe and secure. Any unsettled bets will be honoured and settled by Betfair.

Please take a look below at how this may affect you.

    What do I do now?

You now need to activate your new account by going to bluesq.com where you will be asked to enter your existing Blue Square Bet username and password.

Your username is xxxxxxxxx If you have forgotten your password you will need to call Betfair Customer Services on 0844 871 0000 and they will be able to reset this for you.

    ACTIVATE MY ACCOUNT NOW

What happens to the money I had in my Blue Square Bet account?

Any funds you had in your account, including free bets, bonus cash, promotional funds, ipoints and loyalty points have all been transferred to Betfair. The good news is you will be able to access all funds in full and use these how you wish.

Any withdrawals that have already been made from Blue Square Bet will be processed as normal.

What will happen to my unsettled bets?

If you had any unsettled bets they have been transferred to Betfair. These will be honoured and settled by Betfair with any returns credited to your new Betfair account.

I already have a Betfair account. What happens to me?

You will still need to activate your transferred account with Betfair by entering the username and password you previously used on Blue Square Bet.

You will still be able to log into your existing Betfair account with your existing Betfair login details.

I am unfamiliar with Betfair. Can I still place fixed odds sports bets with them?

Yes. Betfair offer fixed odds betting on all the markets that you have been used to betting on at Blue Square Bet. They also have a betting exchange with further betting options, as well as market-leading Casino, Games, Bingo and Poker products.

For further queries please email bluesquare@betfair.com, call 0844 871 0000 or view more information by clicking here.

We would like to take this opportunity to thank you for betting with Blue Square Bet and wish you luck in the future.

    The Blue Square Bet Team"

So one less option out there, Square was 1 of the few main Euro bookmakers i never tried. Probably i didn't miss much but you never know. The way the things are going in a few years we'll have aprox. 5 Euro bookmakers left with betting limits up to 5 EUR.

Weird, so Betfair bought out BlueSQ and Ladbrokes bought out Betdaq.

888 is an independent company, associated with Cassava & its bingo. They previously shared prices and used the same software as Blue Sq; maybe shared some other services.

Mecca Bingo and Grosvenor Casino and their customers were not acquired by Betfair, so if you initially registered through either of these your account remains with them and has not moved to Betfair.
