    SportsBooks on LV Strip

I am making my second trip ever to Vegas...this time without the significant other and plan on living at the Sportsbooks for 4 days.

I would love to hear advice from the pros about the best sportsbooks on the Strip.

Thanks in advance and any other advice would be appreciated

For betting purposes go to Hilton/Trop/Hard Rock/Lagasce Stadium as they will have lines on all the games 1stH/2ndH, and ML.

Trop, Hard Rock, and Palazzo (Lagasse stadium) are all managed by the same company and have identical lines. If you are line shopping, going back and forth between these books will be a complete waste of time.

As for the OP, for a place to hang out and watch games Palazzo is far and away the nicest. On busy days, however, you have to pay a cover to get inside (you can bet without paying the cover at a booth outside the book, but that sort of defeats the purpose of going to that particular book). All of the nicer casinos will have a decent area to watch games, but on busy days they will be crowded and smokey.

For betting, the books owned by Caesar's entertainment and Station Casinos have the most "square" lines. You'll often get an extra half point on dogs and unders. For non major-market stuff, Lucky's franchises, Hilton, Cantor Franchises, and Wynn are (to varying degrees) pretty good.

Lagassenew but a dungeon and very small

    Forgot about Bellagio

    South Point Excellent also

    MGM ok

If you have access to offshore books no need sitting in a sportsbook to gamble though all day

    I was rarely in them

Before all the problems with USA players and offshore industry i agree no need to sit in the book all day

But now its just so nice to be able to walk up to a counter bet a game and then cash the ticket right then and there

    Such a fukkin hassle now

Tried to take 3dimes out of my heritage account and was told that wouldnt be possible

Max is 1600 per day between W* and M*
Processor issues right now with checks
This after being told two weeks ago that there are no processor issues

Really becoming pointless for US players to use offshore industry

Offshore is not trustworthy. Vegas is perfect, if only you could get all the betting options of something like a 5dimes.
With the new mobile gaming you can bet over your phone and don't even have to be in the sportsbook, but you know your money is actually safe and you don't have to go through a bunch of work to get the money.

These fukkin assholes offshore act like a charity
Like people want to give there fukkin money away
When its time to withdrawal its this problem and that problem and the player should just deal with it
    Its BS

Really like the Southpoint. My favorite place.A little far from the strip but i usually rent a car because the wife likes to drive around and shop. They recently remodled the race and sports book and poker room and they are all seperated.Usually go to Las Vegas twice a year. The Linemakers tv show is all filmed at the Southpoint.Like there little CAFE Too.

If you plan on drinking, just sit at the Bellagio. Unlimited free premium drinks. Some other spots make you pony up a min. $100 wager to get a drink these days.

    Stations
    Grade: A
    Offshore Comparison: Sportsbook.com
Review: Limits are more than enough until you beat them. Lots of +EV offerings. Huge books with plentiful seating and great TVs. Very convenient books no matter where you are in Vegas. So easy to beat.
Best Sportsbook of the group: Red Rock

    Wynn
    Grade: A-
    Offshore Comparison: Youwager
Review: Limits aren't posted, have placed 1K bets on obscure sports and they've taken it. Have +EV offerings. Really nice book, although dominated by the race book. Sportsbook is about 3 rows of seating and in the corner. Major markets they've taken 3k from Tomato. Parking garage is convenient to sportsbook.
Best Sportsbook of the group: Wynn

    MGM
    Grade: B
    Offshore Comparison: BetOnline
Review: Limits are good, lines can be +EV. 20 cent baseball lines are evil, but their run lines and totals are beatable. Really nice books, great places to watch the games and even have beatable 2nd halves. Haven't found a convenient book though in the group, they take a while to get to from the parking lot. Location is bad when you're commuting from the burbs.
Best Sportsbook of the group: Bellagio

    Harrahs/Caesars/Rio
    Grade: B-
    Offshore Comparison: DSI
Review: Can't bet more than $500 and while they have square numbers, they usually aren't any better than other properties. .15 baseball lines aren't fun. You'd think they'd take big bets because of the popularity of Caesars and amount of books they have, but Tomato could never get bets approved for 1k there.
Best Sportsbook of the group: Caesars

    Stratosphere
    Grade: B-
    Offshore Comparsion: Bodog
Review: Won't take more than $500 on anything, but still worth the trip with +EV offerings. Don't watch a game here. Location is ultra crappy.
Best Sportsbook of the group: Stratosphere

    Golden Nugget
    Grade: C+
    Offshore Comparison: Heritage
Review: Small book that is modernized and nice. Only book downtown worth being at. Hangs a number at times, but doesn't want to get killed on it. Would only take 3k on a primetime NCAAF game on an underdog, begged for 4k and was refused.
Best Sportsbook of the group: Golden Nugget

    South Point
    Grade: C
    Offshore Comparison: The Greek
Review: Have never been refused a bet here, lots of offerings, huge book, great atmosphere. +EV opportunities are a bit hard to find but are there. Haven't placed a monster bet here but they seem like they would take multiple thousand on a game. Easy to find parking next to the book in the lot out front, they also have books in Summerlin (Rampart) and at the Palms.
Best Sportsbook of the group: South Point

    Lucky's
    Grade: C-
    Offshore Comparison: 5Dimes
Review: Offers more lines on soccer than almost any other Las Vegas Book. Problem is the vig is so high that it's almost never worth betting. Limits are good, never refused a bet. They have the best number at times. Outs are predominantly in places you don't want to be (Terrible's, Riviera, Downtown)
Best Sportsbook of the group: Plaza

    Cal Neva
    Grade: C-
Offshore Comparison: WSEX (before they went broke)
Review: Reno-based book that has taken big bets from Tomato in the past. Offers some attractive baseball lines that haven't been adjusted for steam. Not any type of place to watch a game. Not a huge fan of sharp bettors, had an employee call a manager for betting $200 on a spring training game.
Best Sportsbook of the group: Four Queens

    LV Hilton

    Grade: D+
Offshore Comparsion: Bookmaker (although no one is really Bookmaker)
Review: Huge, old, smelly. People love it because they're squares and like the odds on the favorite and the variety of offerings. There's a separate parking lot next to the book but spots are never available on a weekend. Rarely +EV but when they are you can hit them for 5k and they won't care.

    Coasts
    Grade: D+
    Offshore Comparision: Grande
Review: High limits when you ask for them, nice books, located in the burbs. Usually very sharp.
Best Sportsbook of the group: Sam's Town

    Leroy's
    Grade: D
    Offshore Comparison: BetVegasVic
Review: Allegedly takes big bets from Walters. Sharp shop with lines that are never the best on the board. Used to be one of the first to offer college lines and could be beat on openers. Best number is never here. Tiny books in bad locations.
Best Sportsbook of the group: Silverton

    Cantor
    Grade: F
    Offshore Comparison: Pinnacle
Review: Can only beat these guys on props. Occasionally they'll take a stance on a game and you'll want to bet it. Huge limits, state-of-the-art books, big ego. Ruining Vegas.
Best Sportsbook of the group: M Resort

Hmmm... not sure that Tomato is looking back on it. Diversity of betting options? Hilton offers .10 hockey lines.

The other downgrades were either for extreme limitations on wager amount (South Point, Stratosphere, Golden Nugget)

Tomato has learned that there are only 4 bookmakers in town with any balls. Those are the books that will take a bet for over $500 and not need managerial approval.

    - Wynn
    - MGM
    - Hilton
    - Cantor
