I've heard Peppermill and Atlantis are decent. I know there are Leroy's and Cal-Neva books up there as well. Never been up there myself, however.

I've been to Reno once in my life, we stayed at the Silver Legacy. That's all I remember.

Thanks for the info Monkey. I was looking at staying at Peppermill, although I'll probably stay in Tahoe since it's closer to good skiing.

In Reno its Cal-Neva, I can't even remember a sportsbook in South Lake Tahoe (probably not a good sign)

South Shore Lake Tahoe has 3 books. Harveys-run by Harrahs-Lakeside Inn,located downstairs, and the Cal-Neva runs a book inside of Mount Bleu-formerly the Caesars property. in Reno-for wagering only=Cal Neva downtown. good luck.

I'll definitely check out the Cal Neva in Montbleu. Montbleu has reasonable rates from what I've seen online, too. $70 Weds and Thurs of next week and $110 on Friday.

MontBleu has one of the worst sportsbooks I've even seen they never have the games you want to watch on and the lines on the board are about two hours old. The best book in South Lake is Harvey's and The best in Reno is probably Peppermill. Good luck

Peppermill and atlantis seem to be good. They actually give you comps at the peppermill and track sportsbook bets.

Peppermill is way out there right? I think the Silver Legacy is closer in downtown

Peppermill is only about a mile from down town and best books in Reno go like this

    1. Peppermill
    2. Atlantis (8cent lines in baseball)
    3. Grand Sierra (Lucky's) * they've got everything even european soccer great variety
    4. Cal Neva
    5. Silver Legacy (MGM)
    6. Sienna's (Leroys)
    7 Harrah's

Of course the best book is the one that has the best line on a particular bet and vegasinsider has free odds for all these books.
Peppermill is the best all around (great comps) 4 star atmosphere
Atlantis has the best buffet also great at comping sports bets
Silver Legacy is the best down town
Cal Neva's a great place to bet but wouldn't stay there
Sienna's very nice (All Suites) but for some reason attracts scum bags at the tables because of the surrounding neighborhood.
Harrah's rarely place a bet there cause of the high juice (30 cents!)

Has anyone been to Reno lately that would like to add their opinion?
