"If it looks to good to be true, it probably is"

What a bs argument. Sure, it's decent advice, but it's not some argument that would hold up in any sort of court of law. This is the problem with SBR and the industry.

Seriously, BetIslands fukkin cokksuckers robbing people and were a B+ rated book at SBR and people are saying it is the person's fault. Come on.

This is the fault of SBR and Bet Islands.

As far as Betislands goes, there is not going to be any help from this forum. When Dozer made his last post about Betislands, I took it that they were done with it.

Indeed... there are quite a few books that look too good to be true who went through getting crushed and paid everyone off.

I don't know what's worse, getting screwed by Jon at BI or getting screwed by game fixing Drake coach Mark Phelps who ordered his team to foul down 11 with 6 seconds to go when the spread was 11 1/2. There is nothing they can do about Jon since he is out of the US jurisdiction but the cops should by all means go to arena and arrest that fukkin guy Phelps for point shaving.

Bubba, I feel ya on 50K loss by way of BI theft. I lost nearly 40K in one day playing blackjack online(i know this is much differnt) however it was very depressing for an average joe to lose it and it was 95 percent profit.(the loss) I had to look back at at my net loss and take comfort in that.

so my question for you is what is your net loss???

BI disaster is the main reason US sports bettors should start playing daily fantasy instead. Paypal withdrawals within 2 days. Companies are all US-based, not offshore. Don't have to worry about shady operators or feds breaking up the operation.

cant answer the net loss question as i dont know the answer (i dont keep the records that i should).

I can answer that at the time of the theft amongst my 4-5 books i was even on football. so i went from even to down 50k overnight

yeah, the net loss by book is a bullshit defense of BI. Most of us have many positions on a single game across numerous books. Sometimes, you'll be beating up book A. Sometimes, you beat up book B. Overall, grind out that small cheese. Book A shouldn't be allowed to take all your balance and act like it was only the monies deposited that was the theft.

    Bubba,

I feel for you. I have had many conflicts with books over the years (including 1 that you & I were dealing with against Bodog about 2-3 years ago) but this is by far the worst. It is criminal and you are a true victim. If I were you, I would continue to pursue it via every avenue available (including SBR, who should be assisting you a bit more, IMO), but you need to do it with the realization that your money is likely gone. There is no good way to rationalize it to make yourself feel better but it isn't something you can't recover from. You seem to be a sharp guy. Use motivation from this bad situation to work hard and recover your lost funds in another way and try and turn it into a positive. Good luck, buddy.

There are pix of that little oyster Jon somewhr on here ....I remember seeing them.
I will say this much. There is never a week that goes by that I dont ask my contacts down in costa rica as the whereabouts of this piece of shit. I will always try to find out where he is working and make sure to expose that sportsbook.

All of the story is true as far as Jon not being the money behind the operation. The problem I have with him is what a greedy fukk he was when his bosses kept telling him to get rid of all the sharp players allowing them to rip them a new asshole. You see Jon would get a good commission on all new big deposits that were coming in. Jon new that they were picking them off with steam plays and also getting a free half point and low vig. He didnt give a shit cause of the commission. He was the main reason the business fell apart.

You cant allow professional steam players to come in, get a bonus, a free half point and -108 juice. He knew the ship would go down but all he cared about was collecting his commission. Jon I hope you feel good about yourself and go fukn choke on your money.

suicide becuase of gambling losses? if so are you still gambling? I'd bet most of people that got burned by BI are still gambling and wrote it off as a gambling loss as sending money to a book is a gamble as it is not FDIC innsured or anything. i asked you before what your net loss was at BI and you said you don't keep track, serious?? after your 50K balance you didn't crunch the numbers to see your net loss? It might seem like I'm being a dick but forget 50K and look at what you lost net and write it off and move on.

just life has been rough the last 12 months for me. the 50k robbed is just a part of it, there is a lot more. im not gonna commit suicide and certainly not anytime soon as i am still young and maybe thing will turn around.

I actually am extremely depressed tonight and it has nothing to do with money.

hank, in bubba situation, it's hard to just write it off and move on because the money was stolen/robbed from him. you're dealing with a totally different set of emotions than when you gamble and lose. i rather lose 30k gambling than let that f\*g jon steal 3k from me. i had weekends where i lost 20-30k on gambling, and also i had situations where locals and offshore books stole from me anywhere from 2-7k each. when the money is stolen from me, that shit lingers.

i understand being disgusted and by SBR and BI's sunken ship. The most I deposited at BI was $500 and my peak balance was around 5K there, If i had 5K( 10 percent of bubba's balance) I think I would try to ease my mind with knowing that I really just lost my $500. out of pocket.

as i think i stated in this thread, at the time of the robbery i was dead even in my 2012 sports betting football season. i went from even to -50k overnight.
